While I was away from GTPlanet on holiday I checked out my cousins new laptop a HP *cringe* - I was actually quite impressed because of its brand name status. It had allocated DDR Ram from video and it pumped out smooth graphics in plenty of games.
Anyway to cut to the chase, he had installed Kazaa on his computer because he was too lazy to get Kazaa Lite. Well he got Ad-Aware to remove the spyware but there was a program called Save on his computer that repeatedly popped up mentioning good deals and that if you removed it you would loose all the benefits . He had run Ad-Aware and to remove this program and it didn't work.
I arrived on the scene, I went straight to see where the program was and found its folder. No uninstall utility. I read the readme it said:
You can remove Save by going to the Add / Remove section in Control Panel - but why would you want to remove Save, you would miss out on all the great deals we provide for you!
After this I headed straight to where I new I should've gone earlier. Once in Add / Remove it was nowhere to be seen. I was pissed off to find no uninstall utility for it either.
So I ran Ad-Aware again, still nothing. By now I was getting hungry and my stomach was beginning to get control over my brain but I was determined to fix this problem.
My brain clicked, what if it has already been quarantined. I checked the quarantine list and low and behold Ad-Aware the spyware remover removed the Spyware remover!
I restored the uninstaller and uninstalled Save and lived happily ever after.
The moral is - Ad-Aware smells and so does Kazaa.
