Well, I can say that I don't like the "celebrity brain crash" segment, it just feels like a waste of time to bring random celebrities in just to kill them off for the sake of a gag. I honestly much rather have them being interviewed like when they were on Top Gear.
Episode 4 still have that segment.

Cut it, will ya? Its repetitive and not funny. Even the audience in show weren't impressed.

Probably one of the best episodes so far for me. Wish they did a bit more than just be in the same old field, but with cars like that, I can see why they weren't taken on the open road too much. The immigration skit was great fun, Conversation Street is good banter, as has been said.

As for the much maligned Celebrity Brain Crash, yes it's stupid and repetitive, but it takes up less than 2 minutes (I timed it) of the episode. Honestly, it's basically an ad break of sorts. I can't kick up a stink about something that doesn't even run anywhere close to 5 minutes.

I can see that there will be people out there that will complain about the fact Clarkson's car was made of bones and dead animal skin, and that May dug up a field, and a few others things that would have undoubtedly upset someone.

Watched it last night, the M4 GTS v GT3RS bit was good, the rest was average.

I enjoyed episode 4 better than the others. It was more of the old Top Gear like stuff. The car reviews are fun, but I had missed the guys making their own crappy (literally in this case) cars or buying old beaters and doing challenges.

Agree with most the Celebrity Brain Crash is kind of dumb though. Yes, it's short, but it's pointless.

I watch GT with a smile on my face and awe in my heart so that makes it a success for me. Episode 2 was an aberration, but the other three were well done and entertaining.

Most illegally downloaded show in history according to The Guardian. Not sure how they know that but hey ho.

I always thought TG was at its strongest with its cheap car challenges. Buying a Porsche for a grand was a funny premise. The joke worked because spending 200 quid on a car is extremely ill advised, but people do it.

I never really cared about supercars or blowing things up/dropping caravans on things. that can only appeal to a young or immature audience. That young/manchild audience seems to be the top target with this new series, which is a shame.

And it was destined to go wrong eventually because there are only so many permutations of the cheap car challenge that aren't too retarded. Amphibious cars? Okay, it's funny. Motorhomes? Sure, okay, even though the presenters pretend to build it when obviously they didn't.

The races were also stupid. The car can never take credit for a victory over public transport because it's not a drag race, it's a race where planning and efficiency win, which makes it a contest between people, not machines. 900bhp is irrelevant on the M25 or whatever. Daft.

Driving supercars in Italy? Wow I so don't care. Scripted bs in America? Yeah naw.

I may be in a minority, but I suspect not. Grand Tour takes the lows of TG and throws them into overdrive. I'm happy for the guys, and their production team will obviously have ther pick of future jobs when GT finishes, but meh. Not for me.

I do partly agree but I feel like you've picked a very small section of TG and saying I like this so I like top gear whereas it looks like you've said you dislike 90% of the episodes they put out. I do agree that the cheap car stuff was their best stuff. I watched all of the challenge ones of the US Topgear too, but if it was just that I wouldn't say I like top gear.

I didnt really enjoyed this one. The M4 vs GT3 RS segment was nice, I like conversation street but the car challenge was stupid and I used to love those but they took the charm away. The cars were stupid really, the fact that we dont see them "build" them kinda spoiled the show too as it's usually a fun segment for me with Clarkson stupidity and May that wants everything to be perfect. Even the water passage was deeply disappointing as it didnt provide any good fun.
I think they fail to hit the mark on that episode.

For me, episode 4 was sub par. Not as good as episode 1 and 3. The challenge was sort of stupid but lack of fun factor.

What happened to like the Vietnam TG when the bikes broke and he fixed it with a bag of grass that was more realistic than the stuff with James' car in episode 4, other than that I enjoyed it.

This was a great episode. I wish they talked about the cars a bit more. The battle ship bit was very funny although it was scripted. The bit after the Celebrity Brain Crash bit was so awkward to watch with my parents...

Why would it be awkward. The traffic cones are useful and inflatable person is useful as well.

That was a very good episode 👍

Apart from Conversation Street, Celebrity Brain Crash, the battleship segment, the driving accessories and the race around the movie set.

The latest episode was my personal favorite so far. Minus a few awkward parts, I liked it. Hoping they do an big adventure episode like Vietnam again, that's the good stuff.

What do you mean? The driving accessories was an incredibly useful part for new motorists. Buy a taxi and put the inflatable person in it to use the taxi lanes and the cones for when you break down.

So the concept for this week was - Hammond is an arse.

...and the concept this week was, Hammond is an idiot.

I don't really get it, do they actually expect anyone to believe he is that stupid? If not, why not come up with a better script? I mean he even continued the charade in the tent, despite the fact we're led to believe they just watched the footage back, with the other two noting it was a film set.

It's not just not funny, it's just bad writing.

I have an absolutely fantastic idea for you.

Stop watching the show? 💡

Wilman needs to go. I said it during the last few series of TG but he's the main problem. Most of the scripted crap is his idea. He also seems to have developed an ego and has the trio even namedropping him now.

Agreed, they need to refresh with some new writing and a slightly different direction. So far it seems like the increased budget has actually lowered the quality of the show. I'm not really finding much that's funny. The environmental car ideas were poop.
