The best car in GT2? Well I enjoy driving the max tuned TVR Griffith 500. You have to fight oversteer but unlike all the other TVR's in the game it is easy to catch, and that makes it fun.
The fastest car is the Toyota GT1, but only on the TEST TRACK. Kinda pointless. I too think that the R33 Drag stinks, but the Unisia Jecs Skyline is fantastically fast sadly a little dull. So here's my top 8, that matters to no one but me, comments anyone?

1. RTVR Griffith 500 maxed.

2. RCorvette ZR1 maxed.

3. The best car to begin the game with? Toyota Supra Turbo and then modded a little.

4. Toyota GT1, pointless but sexy.

4. RFord GT40 Race Car. I prefer the road going GT40, you can tweak it to be far more powerful. However this Race car is the ultimate money maker and can be used in more races so this is the essential car. Go to the special event mid engine races and win the RED ROCK race with the rear engined Clio V6. You will win this GT40, put soft tyres on it. (By the by, always use soft tyres for races under 4 laps.) This car can win RED ROCK in it's sleep and is won every time you do so. You can sell the cars you win and after 4, 2 lap races you have a million credits. I have read all the other money making tips. Some suggest other races----------- utter crap. Use this method and you will be rich beyond the dreams of avarice. The great thing about the GT40 is it is so old but it handles better than any other car in the game. Think you are out of control? Just take your thumbs off the joypad, it almost rights itself. Unlike other mid engined cars it doesn't like to spin, the most it does is slip sideways.

5. Nissan Skyline R32 GTR. (BUY THIS AS YOUR SECOND CAR AS SOON AS YOU CAN!) DO NOT WASTE YOU MONEY ON THE VSPEC VERSION OF THIS CAR IT COSTS 3 TIMES THE AMOUNT AND IS HEAVIER TOO - TOTAL CRAP OVERPRICED........ Look, buy the R32 GTR and compete in the GTR special race for GTRS. Keep adding parts and go for the turbo 4 kit. Now add Racing body kit from Calsonic - it rules! (The only Skyline better is the R34 GTR)

6. GTR R34 (Don't put racing kit on an R34, it goes better without.)

7. RLotus Elan Sprint Maxed. It's a little gem, a great laugh, a giant killer.

8. Do not waste money on the Jaguars (except maybe a 220 is worth having, as with 4 wheel drive it is like a super fast Skyline) I would recommend the DB7 over the XKR every time. My eighth and final choice car? Hmmm. I have to admit that I loove the Vauxhall Tigra Ice Race Car, recommended.

Most over rated cars?

1. RX7 TOO DAMN SLOW
2. R33 HAG! I have said my piece on this piece of ......
3. Audi S4, yuck, like a Skyline without the handling polish!

What say you?

1. Agreed, it's like a Miata/MX-5 on steroids.

2. Okay, but the Grand Sport is better when fully tuned.

3. A great first car, but a little heavy until you buy mods.

4. Agreed, it's a great car (except the exhaust noise is weak); with around 220hp in a light car you can win the MR ~591hp race easily, even easier when the GT40 fails to show up.

5. Okay, but understeer-city. Better than any of the other R32s and R33s, however. They can be bought at anywhere from 10-16k; and possibly the cheapest go-fast-car available.

6. Blah. Too quick, no challenge. Nice to have, but it collects dust.

7. Ah, you noticed. Not very fast in a straight line, but a giant-killer in the turns.

8. Not really. The DB7 has a great exhaust noise, and that's about it. The Jaguar XJR15 is better than the XJ220's pathetic 5-speed gearbox and 945hp that feels like 500, somehow.

As for the RX-7's, I'm not sure why you think they're slow. Is 634hp slow? What about the lightweight '83 FB? Not too shabby. And the race specials are quite fast, and handle great.

Agreed on the R33. Blah.

S4...you're missing out. Quite the 4-door sedan in full-tune. And it's fun to rally with it, too!

1. Is a V8 bathtub on wheels, i'm not insulting the car. That's just what it is and it's probably the best V8 bathtub ever. I've only had those handling problems in it's stock form, it's capable of making the GT-One and co look silly (although most TVR's in the game can).

2. Yup the ZR-1 is a blinder stock, although I didn't know about the GS being better (damn you Pupik!).

3. Meh, yeah i'd agree on that, although if your looking to fo the rallys first, the 91' GT-4 RCCelica comes close. But it's not the most challenging car to start with.

4. GT-One, fast but a bit dull after a while (playing GT3 and having to use this for a ****ing huge pro championship put me off this car a bit)
4 (Again?). Yup a Ford masterclass that, although I prefer not to buy special models anymore, I like to find my racecars in the new or used lots.
5. I have a thing for R32's so in my previous save I bought all of them, the differences in performance is marginal. I tend to plump for the R32 GT-R Nismo as a tuned roadcar (for the sake of the Nismo name) and whichever one has a decent racemod (one is the old JGTC calsonic R32, I like that one).

6. R34 = Boring but fast AWD car, also I like the second race mod. Because it looks to be the JGTC endless skyline, exept there is no endless logo, just those funny bars along the side.

7. Yup totally.
8. Jaguar > Aston martin, well in performance in the GT2 cars.

Rx-7? slow, wha? maybe lacking a bit o torque but that's it. Bloody amazing handling makes up for that.
R33, another AWD masterbore. S4 Slightly less boring, but the BTCC race mod makes up for it.

1- Lots of grunt in that one. Good speed but needs some smootness on the gas when cornering; I tend to compare him to the cobra in the driving feel only lots more forgiving and more steady in the straights when positioning for corners ahead.

2- Vette grand sport. I like this car but I need to work on him a bit. Not the best cornerer, it´s not just understeer the thing is that sometimes he just doesn´t... well turn. Probably some tweaking will correct this but I still think he´s not very agile but I love to drive him around seattle full course (that license test got to me ;) ).

3- Supras are always good to have around

4- That thing is like a museum piece in my garage by now. I´m more interested in other cars now but he is at any rate a great car, actually the second fastest around the tracks ;)

5- Sideways, serious even in reverse, no way to lose in this car.
The road car does get more hp but that the difference in speed is not very noticiable.

6- The r32, still a cross road for me. In the end I had three choices: the old jgtc calsonic (best tunned stock r32), mine´s r32.5 (highest hp) and tommy kaira´s m30 (great spec and rwd),
I chose the m30 but it still feels something´s missing, The mine´s r32.5 is not bugging me but that calsonic one... guess I´ll have to do some road test.

7- Good car but my enthusiasm for him is a little worn out. Still race him though. Sometimes I get rid of all the lsd for anti-ecological porposes only. I have a thing aginst rubber

8- I only have the elan s2. Specwise is a little better, as for the driving I wouldn´t know. I´ll have to say that the sprint has some of the best colour schemes and race mods though.

9- I spend a lot of my cash in jags, I even have the xjr vehicle. The xkr coupe is a bit of an ox but I wouldn´t know about that db7, pretty close call. On the other hand the xj220 and xjr15 are great racers. Wheras the xj220 could be a bit faster (by the way the car is mr/rwd) the xjr15 achieves a great performance for his HP class.

Tigra ice race car, of course one of my favourites.

The rx7 gt-c is the only one I find slow around the track. In fact the rx7 gt-c LM is one of the best cars in his class.

The s4 isn´t really worshiped to get the "over rated" label and even if he was the title would be in good hands. Great car great handling, I actualy think he would be able to compete with the r34s ( not the racing ones of course).

Drag cars are for speed and not much more. Again I don´t think people love them that much. The r33 is at any rate worse than the 180sx. I actually used him a while ago in races. I found it cool to deccelerate to bicicle speeds and then try to catch up in the starights. Made for good challenge, although I didn´t race for too long...

1. Yea, great convertible, but, just for a change, Im a tuscan man

2. yea, ok as a redrock car, but gets toasted by lesser european cars. Pretty lousy lookin mod :(

3. He aint heavy, hes my supra

4. refuse to buy, havent been awarded it yet at GT league in 200 days of trying :banghead:

5. classic car that shows up more exotic and expensive rides.

6. R32 calsonic with 550 ish hp sounds like its engine is gonna blow. makes a good race with 2.

7. a little cracker, very quick for sucj low hp

8. not great fan of jags or AM's, the xj220 sounds like it is being revved in a linolium hall

1a The rx7s are frustrating. fast in a straight line, then bags of understeer. '83 is a real gem

2a S4 is ok under 400hp, over that there are better drives

I don't know why I don't enjoy RX-7's, they just seem... dull to me.
I agree on the S4, used under 400bhp it makes a good car for ltd hp races. But it still seems a trifle pointless.
The steering on my ZR1 seems fine, as long as I don't spin my wheels when turning, but the TVR's demand the same respect.

I wish the Esprit was a better car, it feels really choice and responsive, right up to the point where it bites you in the ASS.

Oh and the Elise, I have souped my 135 to the max and lightened it with racing kit... you know whats coming, it hits a bump and it is heading for the sky, what can I do to rectifiy this?

Again, thankyou all for your interesting replies.

:odd:

Nice list but where the f... is the R390 Road Car, eh? And the Taevon Trampio FTO?

Any of these would ripp the good(?) old ZR-1.

I got issues with the r390. the lack of ability to tune the suspension limits its ability to become a contender. Trampio is best FF drive car X far

I haven't tried them all yet. But I like the idea of a good FF car. Usually they blow, badly.
I have the Toyota GT1 and the Tigra Ice, what is my next 'must have' ?

Actually, the suspension doesn't need tuning if you keep the power at a sane level. 883hp is too much for the stock settings; keep it at 351hp or so and it's a wonderful car.

It's possible to win the GT500 championship with a tuned R390, but with no power upgrades. Lower the weight, add transmission upgrades, tune the LSD a bit, and it's magic.

Well said list of interesting cars. But a word to Mr. Trampio-can-beat-vettezr1 : No it cant. No matter how much it is wished for, it's not gona happen. Why not GT40 for 1st? This car has got to be THE most bestest car in the game. Good handling, good speed, and light. Nice sound too, a bonus.

I beg to differ on both counts. Over the average of all the tracks, the trampio would kick the stuffing out of the vette. And while the gt40 is undoubtedly an awesome car, there are cars in a similar hp range that could ***** slap it back to the 60's :D

Gotta agree with pupik, keep the r390 below 400hp, and it is the prince of smooth. It is just such a pity as soon as you take it higher, problems start :(

Yeah!

The Trampio would eat the ZR1 for breakfast!!! For those who find it slow there's something you can tune called gear ratio...;)
