 OK, I give up. :indiff: I've been searching for a thread on this for weeks but I can't find one and if they're actually is one, sorry.

At the minute i'm going to race in the F1 World Championship.
My car: Playstation Pescarolo/Judd Race Car. :grumpy:

Question: OK, seen as these races have around 1 hours+ worth of racing each I need a good answer for the following question from all you guys out there. 👍

Would the car achieve a quicker total time per race If I were to:

Give it a Stage 4 Turbo : Pros: Highest Power
Cons:: Worst Possible tire wear

Give it a Stage 3 Turbo : Pros: Good Power
Cons Average tire wear

No Turbo : pros: Low Power
Cons: Great tire wear

So my question is What would be the best way to go about the turbo/tire situation?
High Power and lots of pitting or Low Power and little pitting???

The low power, less pitting, will allow you a better overall time, as your laps will be more consistent over the course of the race.

In races that I've run, you lose too much time when running on tires that wear out over the course of a few laps. Its not the pitting time, but the time you spent running on bad tires through out the track.

With consistent slow tire wear, you get more time to run an smoother consistent lap.

I don't think there is a plain and simple answer. It depends on the track geometry (technical, or primarily straights), your suspension and lsd setup, and how much time you expect to lose in a pit stop vs the time lost by staying out a few extra laps on worn tires.

Personally, I'd go for the lower hp and spend some time setting my suspension. Then I'd look to make up time on the AI where they are weakest - in the corners.

edit: AO beat me

What might seem to work good is turn the tracton control up a notch or two and then put the stage 3 on
just might work!

you have a major advantage the F1s don't have.

you can fit different tire types.

with proper tuning, tire choice and good enough skills (youll need it vs F1s) you'll beat them with tire endurance alone.

for example, i gave the R92CP harder tires on the back and compensated the reduced rear grip with some understeer.

i was getting miles ahead of the minolta because i could almost pit in 5 laps later than the rest.

imo, this is what will save your ass in the F1 races.

The Pescarolo has great tire life, so a Stage 3 turbo will be optimal. You might not leave them in the dust, but you'll outlast them.

If you're going to run with Superhard tires, i'd suggest going with the Stage 3, considering that the F1 are really fast, you need as much hp as possible, and superhard tires last a long time. Besides, the F1's run racing mediums, so with the stage 3 turbo and superhard tires, you can probably outlast them for a bit.
