Are absolutely terrifying!

So I finally picked this up for £13 PRE-OWNED (Don't need an online pass for now unless someone can convince me Online isn't a wash-out) and I need to say when driving on the edge I'm actually scared about touching other cars never mind the wall. This game is very unforgiving and seems more akin to SEGA Rally '95's no-BS reaction to crashes than an actual sim but I love it.

The game itself is very well done although I disagree with the reviewers that praise the graphics. They are a tad too choppy for my liking. It reminds me of a more realistic GRID with the flashy replays and in your face presentation.

Enjoying this so far so good job to EA & Slightly-Mad.

👍

So far, it's a 7/10 for me.

I agree. This is one game that gets my racing adrenaline pumping. Eventually, as one plays through the game, it's almost as if the AI develop personalities of their own. You learn to give the maniacs some space - and you learn to recognise the tougher, more skillfully competitive opponents.

I remember it Shift, the AI would develop according to the style of the player's racing; precision or aggression. Shift2's AI are the same, though vastly more improved - so the way crashes happen seem really natural, very life-like to the senses, and believable enough to fool the brain into total escape. Result? Chemical overdrive. Yup. The crashes can be terrifying. Good thing it's Virtual Reality. And a darn good videogame, too.

I have most of the Series, and play them whenever the mood hits; at Career 42%, Level 20 right now on S2, but thinking of the Run, already - maybe start that up, too. Heard it's a short game, though, could be done in a day.

As for the graphics - well, GT5 set that benchmark quite high. It's left to see whether other developers see equal light.

I loved The Run. 👍 Physics were amazing! :D Don't believe the obligatory anti-NFS crowd.
