The description translates to "You don't need to be level 40 to unlock the dirt and car damage, just patience and a destructive streak".

That little part tells me that you have to be committed for a period of time to get a car to that state.

Judging from the description this is nothing we haven't seen before. The guy says you don't have to be at level 40 for damage like this, just need to be patient and keep crashing. Doesn't get any more obvious than that. In about a week we're gonna get threads of people complaining why they're at level 40 and their damage still sucks.

Finally someone tries a WRC car.

I thought the info from PD should tell us it's pointless trying to damage road cars like Mustangs and Evo's as its only going to be superficial deformation and stuff.

...and just as I stated numerous times....there is a patch out!...20 hours before release! I knew it! and since it is a big patch, it must contain more than just unlocking an online component of the game.

It's very interesting how right when this patch comes out just hours ago....all the sudden we get new videos of higher damage levels....hmm :)

They did.

I really hope that this is the case but I just don't think so, it's too good to be true. And the guy could have been trying to destroy that car for an hour and that was the result, doesn't prove anything.

I dont think thats how it works/ should work. Damage should increase by the speed of the collision and it's severety not how many times you collide. :scared severity

So it takes you hours to damage the car like that  OK man lets see whats the verdict. 👍

Read the description on the video

Unless I am missing something the description to the video clears up neither question as to whether level 40 is the final level or how much smashing it took to get that smashed up... only that it took patience.

HN7
I am really curious as to why anyone in their right mind would think this damage per level is a good idea.

Plenty have tried to rationlize it around here... so far there hasn't really been any good reasons that don't have huge holes in them as to why just damage settings isn't the better option.

It seems a lot of people are misinterpreting the description - "you don't have to be level 40...just patience and a destructive streak" - ie, the guy who made the video is insinuating that he isn't level 40; he just spent a large amount of time smashing into a wall. I think the thread title needs to be changed, it's a bit misleading, particularly since there's still no indication that this is in any way indicative of what damage will be like (heavier or the same as the lower levels) at level 40.

The last thing that's needed is more interpretations and hearsay to be bandied about as fact, which seems to happen a lot.

This is great and all, but we need MECHANICAL damage, i don't give a crap about cosmetic damage..

Well I do give a crap about cosmetic damage (especially really good cosmetic damage) but definitely mechanical is far more important...

Good catch... makes me wonder all the more if you have to really work it to get the car that banged up or whether it happens after a reasonable crash.

Members on here jump to conclusions too fast bro. No where in that vid did the guy say you unlock damage after level 40. This is what happens on this site

People read what they want to read. And then get disappointed when it is not what they thought it is.
