I would think the G25 is amazing compared to all others...

But how big is the diffrence between the Ex, and Pro? pro's and cons of each?

A problem with the EX and GT4 is the paddle switches don't work, therefore I wouldn't recommend it for that version.

The EX is like an updated DF wheel, using some of the same parts and, while a "good" wheel, it isn't as good as the more expensive models. On the other hand, it is supposed to be the "most compatible wheel", so if you play early GT versions, you may want this wheel. The EX is fully compatible with ToCA 2 & 3, too, including the shift paddles.

That's OK. The DF is still the best value going, for the money, if you can find a new one.

They don't last forever, though, and they do have a few problems as a result of that.

The Driving Force EX is the cheapest and IMO it's pretty good value for the money. Contrary to what's posted above the paddles works - at least in the NTSC version. I think the force feedback is weaker than on the other wheels though.

The Pro and G25 has 900 degrees of movement which is pretty cool, but they're more expensive than the EX. The G25 has a leather wheel instead of rubber.

I'm not the only GT4 player to find the paddle switches don't change gears, so if you can help us out, we want to know your secret. 💡

So is it worth it to go for the EX? I hate when I go cheaper and do not enjoy the originaly wanted product...

:) Sure. Having read here that the paddle switches don't work I didn't try them first, but then decided I should try it out.

This is what I did:
enter the steering wheel options under driving force. Set transmission up to R1 and transmission down to L1. Then change the conflicting settings (view back and special I think) to R2 and L2 and your set to go. Just for good measure I tried the same thing under Driving Force Pro and the other wheels. Tried it out and it worked without a problem.

Later on I read at the Logitech Forums that some people had problems with this as well and the conclusion was that somehow this was removed for the PAL release (at least in Australia), but that it works in the NTSC release of GT4.

I think it's important the wheel is connected to USB slot 1 and that you don't connect it to the controller port at all. I.E connect the wheel to USB port 1 and nothing else. :)

Ah, HA! I had left the triggers set to the default for the DF wheel (R2 & L2) thinking it would be used in the same way with the EX. Once this was changed, it worked.

Thank you! You made my day!
Not even Logitech was any help with this.

USB1 is for the main wheel, but it made no difference at all if the Controller connector was inserted or not. I think this extra connector is more for PS1 game compatibility and maybe GT3 menu control (GT3 wouldn't do something through the DF wheel...). I've never seen this defined yet, though.

just a quick question:
Does G25 works on GT4?

Thx

Yes, it does, but the clutch and 6 speed shifter don't. The shifter works in sequential mode for GT4, and it's still got gearshift paddles behind the wheel.
