The DREDDED movable objects

I was wondering if anyone had any Ideas what to do about the movable objects like the evil barriers and the blue bundles of DARK MATTER that the new DLC Exotic tracks and existing tracks like London River have ?
I think that if a racer hit’s a movable object and the object is in it’s original location that driver has to drive out of the predicament and not use the “ RESET “ button, but if a competitor hits one of the devils children, that a previous impact caused a littering of the track w/ race destroyers, then the victim racer should be able to hit the “ RESET ’ button. I think that because in the real world, some kind of yellow flags would be waving in that area of the track and they don’t in these races there should be an adjustment to the rules.
I think this is an issue that should be dealt with considering how they rocked my world last Saturday and I shouldn’t have had to make some bad calls because of the stress that actual racing places on the competitors. The movable objects can be blown into the racing line on purpose by less then honorable tactics as I have witnessed in the public lobby. That guy was a surgeon the way he created a mouse hole that only he knew about and created ten huge impassable objects in front of everyone behind him.

The blue things should stay at the side of the track. I've only ever hit them after someone has ploughed into them with terrible results and if you hit them it's tough but one of those things. They only get hit b people taking the turn to fast which ends up making you slower overall.
So on these tracks the secret to going fast is to slow down.

I only wish that were always true. The problem with Shift is that I know it's possible to basically drift around corners using the handbrake under full throttle and actually be faster, than the same corner taken using a realistic driving technique. I don't know the specifics of the e-brake technique because I've always played Shift like a simulation, but I know it's possible.

And if I recall correctly you've got to hit those blue things pretty hard to move them far so I expect that if they get onto the track it's probably on purpose. I don't figure the League guys would do that.

Yah but the question still stands, the evil objects still should be looked at as something that has to have a consideration towards. The surprise factor sukzzzzzzzzzzz. It really needs attention. If it takes video evidence to prove that the object was unavoidable and it is blocking the race line and crashed into then that should be a resource for the defense for the use of the infamous RESET button.

The only advice I can offer is DO NOT race online on any track with these blocks. I was racing on Port Boulce(If that's how you spell it), which has these blocks lined up along the outside of the first corner. I think the punters online purposely crash into these blocks, because when that happens, they form a roadblock and you either can't get through or have to run through them at speed. It ruins the race so much and is very annoying.

As far as the use of the 'reset' button, I think it's reasonable since the blocks can end up blocking the whole road.

yah it's just for the Shift Legue and trying to have a race that is as close to real as is possible. Thankzzzzzzzz

Lefty sorry to disagree, agreing, with you...confused-picture the confused smile here-:indiff:.

That is I agree that dreadfull blue things can spoil a race when banged-purposely or not-into the middle of the track. But I don't think the reset button is a good solution-I never use it so I don't even remember it-and as for realism I think you were/are a semi-pro racer in RL,when you crash do you have a reset button to push? lol

So lets all try to stay away from those blue evil objects...(thumbs up)

What I am trying to get across is that in a real race there would be flagman ( flag persons for the PC crowd ) and the drivers would know to slow down as well as the track crew would remove the obstruction so that section was not compromised. Since we don’t have any flagmen or flag persons, lol, or a track crew, after a car crashes into one of those spawns of the devil it doesn’t make any sense to look at that incident as it were the drivers fault, thusly after the crash the remedy is the “RESET” button.

No worries lefty I think no one will have a problem if you hit the reset button in that situation...I just think it isn't a realist solution either, but seems to be the only one...I just can't remember hitting the !§#$%&@ thing, lol maybe because the other games I play don't have that feature(luckyly) but then again they don't have those blue evil things-scared

That sounds good if the rules indicated that but I think that the rules clearly state that if a competitor drives off the track or causes an incident and it is that drivers fault the guilty driver has to drive out of the incident but if another driver is gathered up by the actions of someone else, then the victim can use the “ RESET” button

Best thing to do would be to PM Manny.
But the way I look at it is the blue blocks are the same sort of obsticle as the white and red plastic things as in London river. So in my eyes the same rules apply.

If those things somehow get onto the track surface and you're unfortunate enough to run into them, then by all means hit Reset.

The blue things, along with the "depleted uranium" white and red things are one of those "arcadey" things that EA included in Shift. Along with the Dirty Overtake and Driver Duel, they're there for the Deathrace 2000/Fast n Furious crowd who aren't interested in racing so much as automotive mayhem.

Yeah, I found out the hard way about Driver Duel.
I can usually maneuver around the blocks In London River, but
not on the new tracks with the blue blocks.

That answer made me giggle to say the least.
