The End for DFGT (Remembrance/Pictures)

So I was looking around the Logitech website, and decided to look back on the two wheels that were still available from them, when something caught my eye. There was only one wheel where two should be. The G27 was still there, but it's little buddy was gone.

If this is the end of that wheel, then let us mourn its passing with pictures and memories of the good times that we have had with this wheel, as it was almost hands down the best value for beginners to the hobby, myself included.

The story of my wheel,

After playing GT5p for quite some time, I had seen some videos come up on the site about a wheel, that could potentially increase the amount of fun I could have with the driving game. Using the controller was fun and all, but there was something missing after seeing the wheel. I kept playing GT5p until the full GT5 was released and I thought now would be a good time to get a wheel. After getting the game in November, I though that a good Christmas gift would be the wheel, and with much luck, I got it. Now here I was with a wheel, and a game (as well as being about to get some Codies F1 games). When I had first tried it out, it was rough. I could not get to the same smoothness I thought I had with the gamepad, but I was soon wrong when I was consistently faster in the NASCAR portion of GT5. That was when I first realized I was much better off with the wheel. It has served a good life without breaking itself (but many bootleg wheel-stands) and without any noticeable fade in the FFB. When GT6 came out, I though it would be a good Idea to retire the ol' boy and get a G27. The lack of buttons on the wheel took a bit to get used to, but compared to what the DFGT gave me, I felt like I was only getting better pedals and a shifter. I still take out the wheel every now and then, most usually when I am busy modding my G27 pedals, but the old DFGT still works just like new. It has served me well in the few years I have used it, and now it sits in it's retirement home, keeping preserved for any time I may need it again.
