The F2007 sounds like a vacuum now......

I havn't dove this car fot a few months... Not keen on F1 and the likes... All the cars look the same an there is too much dependence on what the car can do rather than the driver...

I'll check it out today.

no they just changed it ..it is softer and does not have that power 19,000 RPM unique sound it use to have. My vacuum......you ask is a hoooover.......with the optional F1 tuned exhaust filter...

So You have driven a F1 Ferrari in real life. Me I have'nt so I have nothing to base how realistic it is.

but with a great surround sound watching F1 on the TV and then the game they are not even close and the point I am making is .....they changed the sound this update....I have put in a ton of time racing this car and it sounds different to me...I was talking to tedsleds and he said the same thing..

To me only difference is now seems the wind noise is stronger. I still LOVE this car, perfect match for Fuji.

Mayby you can drag Tedsleds out on to the track he has'nt shown up in a while.

I love this car too...and Fuji is where I really started spending serious time racing....and yes... the wind is louder....we have raced DaddyVDUB.....

Yeah well you're all moving off topic, this is to do with the F2007 sound changing, there's been threads before about how close to real it is, move there for those discussions.

Agreed. Especially in the replays, from outside the car. That or a router, cutting through some oak wood.

F1 car both control and sound are not like in Real life. Its completely useless in the game.

I agree 100%, don't mind the flamers. There's a lot of people who believe the GT series is the be all and end all of sim racing around here. In my opinion the closest you can get to a real F1 car is the MMG 2007 mod for rFactor. If you have a half decent computer, you should really check it out. It's incredible, especially racing online. I own a ton of F1 sims, and the MMG 2007 rFactor mod is the only one that makes me feel like a real F1 driver.

As a big F1 fan, I think that the F2007 is realistic in the same way that the game's other cars are. Real F1 cars are so high strung and you have to drive properly to heat up the tires and brakes to get maximum performance. For these reasons and many others F1 cars are obviously very difficult to drive in real life, and I think expecting all that from a video game is a little silly. Truthfully though, I havent played many F1 sims, but the F2007 in GT5P is obviously better than in F1CE.

I don't think it's silly at all. There have been other sims around for years in which you DO have to drive properly to heat up the tires and brakes etc... to get maximum performance.

In my opinion if Polyphony wants to keep calling Gran Turismo 'the real driving simulator' they should make it the most realistic driving simulator out there. Alas Polyphony has other worries, like pleasing the broadest possible fanbase and making the game playable on controllers. Imagine driving a real F1 car with a controller!

Oh my god. It's a prologue, a demo. It's not the finished product. Such things hardly matter. Has anyone here driven the f1 car in real life, in helmet and full fireproof gear, at full speed? Has anyone here done a proper comparison of the sound given by their tv to the sound of an actual f1 car, whilst sat in the cockpit? Can anyone say with any degree of accuracy that one game is more true to life than any other? Just enjoy the game as it is and stop looking for problems that don't mean much.

This is a Gran Turismo enthusiast forum. If you don't want to have discussions about wishes, expectations or give or read feedback on the game then I'm not sure why you're here.

Waaay more than a demo. This is the way the cars in the full game are going to drive.

But I would say there is no way any of us can tell what the real F2007 drives like in real life so we can't say GT5P is good or bad in this regard

i am here because i'm a gran turismo enthusiast. This discussion is about the sound of the f1 car, upon which i have made my feelings known. +1 tommy on the fact that no one here knows how the f1 drives etc in real life. But it still is a big demo. This might not be how the cars drive in the full game, as there has already been 3 updates to the driving physics in prologue, and maybe more to come.

+1... And comparing sound from the TV is also irrelevant... because on TV you only hear half the sound an F1 makes... you mostly only hear the high tones, while if youre at the track... (Seen Ferrari F1 car demos at Marlboro Masters @ Zandvoort Circuit) They sound WWWAAAYYYY different and have these crazy low tones that TV broadcasts dont let you hear...

The F1's handling IS very unrealistic. If it were realistic it would be very hard to even last a regular lap on any course. To drive it around Eiger in 1 minute would be extremely hard.

these are the comments we can do without. one, it has nothing to do with how it sounds as per the topic of this thread. two, you know this becasues you have driven a F2007 around Eiger and it took you longer than a minute. seriously why post this in the first place? please stay on topic.

Alright sorry, but it wasn't all taken from nothing. When Richard Hammond drove an F1 in Top Gear you could really see how much just a little too much gas in the corners would do. I don't want that sort of realism in a Gran Turismo game though.

Sorry for getting a bit off topic. :guilty:

Honestly, nobody stays on topic in most forums. I think the F2007 is as close to "real" as all the other cars are in the game. None of them are that close anyhow. Plus, periferral vision, g-forces, and fear have a huge impact on the feel of driving a car in reality.

I think the trick to realizing this cars virtual engine noise beauty lies in your ability to decipher the two frequencies - the high pitched scream, and the low pitched hum. I personally think it sounds pretty close, but it's been a fortnight since I've been in one.
