Gosh, how can you? I mean, I do listen to anime staff on a daily basis, but mixed up with other stuff (much of which are japanese bands too, but most of them have never appeared in a anime show). 8 months of listening just to anime music is tooo much. TOOOO much.

Beats me, dude. I don't get a word they're saying, but I've never really paid attention to lyrics in general and I've always liked the style of how they play their instruments over western counterparts...

Once in a while I bust out GT5's Bossanova & Jazz, some VGM when I'm feeling it, some other pop, oldies and western rock... but whatever.

Also for anyone who knows a thing or two about the Haruhi franchise... I've seen pictures of Yuki playing a violin, but I never seen her perform in the 2 Melancholy's and Disappearance. Is this only in the manga or something?

I think that is either part of the Light novels or a CD collection.

You should watch Capeta and Spice And Wolf. And NGE.

Not sure about many of those, but:

Hmm, hard to recommend which to watch first without knowing what mood you're in...

Epic old school space opera:
The Wings of Honneamise (quick to finish then you're on to the next thing)
Banner of the Stars
Legend of Galactic Heroes

Something funny and slice of life:
Azumanga Daioh

Something funky and cool and mind-bendy:
Bakemonogatari
Ergo Proxy
Kaiba

Racing:
Initial D (for shame, you haven't seen it yet?!)
Capeta (maybe before Initial D if you're a stickler for anime production values and story and aren't just in it for the battles.)

Classic action-drama (can be fantasy or robots):
Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood
Witch Hunter Robin
Zegapain

Miyazaki:
Whisper of the Heart
Ponyo

Not highly recommended:
Argentosoma
Durarara!!

Sephy, the endless eight takes 8 eps of the entire seasons just to figure something wrong within the story.

I agree. It's a cool show but the ending is very disappointing.

It's not cool. It's slow and pointless, and the animation is horrid. The characters look cool but that's about it. And they're all lame. For 26 episodes, it could have been 6 and it would have been the same. And the ending is incredibly, INCREDIBLY bad.

Mark my words: replace Robin with Vision of Escaflowne.

As for what to watch first: Steamboy. That film will just ruin your life completely, as you won't see something so beautifully executed in a very long time.

I actually gave Witch Hunter Robin a 9/10 though I don't remember exactly why, but I assume it has some redeeming features.

Also, mr. yaywalter, I'm assuming you've already seen the following, else they should be high on your list:

Baccano!
Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya
Moribito
Mushi-shi
Samurai Champloo
Sound of the Sky (don't hear a lot of praise for this one around here, recent anime, I thought it was perfect)
The Twelve Kingdoms
Welcome to the NHK

Snatch! I'll take that for my next to watch list!

Okay, Capeta's in the lead with 2 votes. And Witch Hunter Robin is in last with -1 votes.

I've seen Moribito and about half of Baccano, but that's it.

I composed the list entirely from anime that I have on my external hard drive. Anime that is still stuck in my collection of plastic discs (Baccano, Mushi-shi, Champloo, NHK) or that I have yet to acquire hasn't been included. I'll probably add more to the list eventually, as all the titles you've mentioned here are definitely on my radar. And actually, Sound of the Sky is on the list. 👍

Oh, yeah, So Ra No Wo To aka Sora No Woto aka Sound of the Sky! It was freeking amazing! I'm definitely going to watch it again someday.

I'll have to recommend Welcome to the NHK as the very top of your list.

Welcome to the NHK 👍

Sora no Woto I didn't get very far and dropped it, I forgot why. It was when it was airing though, but I might give it another chance.

Oh, and for SoL/Comedy, Mitsudomoe all the way. This show is very underrated IMO. Most people dropped it after episode 2 because they couldn't handle urine jokes. And that was the only major urine joke out of both seasons.

You guys should watch the Legend of Koizumi OVA (not talking about you, Jon)... It's so hilarious.

Not sure if it's what you guys were referring to, but I've got a Haruhi violin album, it was a fan-made album of two violinists playing various songs from the show. I also have an album where an entire orchestra plays all the songs too :D
