The great Australian Collectors Edition rip off?

Hi all,

So let me get this straight:

1) The collectors edition (which I have preordered) is $129 even though our dollar is now stronger than USD?

2) We don't get a key chain and or the 1:43 SLS model?

3) At least we get the stealth pack cars... wait EB games just announced that all pre-orders of GT5 will come with the stealth pack cars.

So you're telling me that all I get for $30+ dollars of my hard earned cash is the Apex book???

I cannot confirm anywhere online if Australia are going to get the 1:43 SLS model and keychain or not.

The plot thickens: EBgames are no longer taking orders of Collectors Editions like they know it's the same as a normal edition GT5 since they are giving away the stealth pack cars for free if you pre-order.

Anyone else angry/confused/care about this? I will be having words with my local EBGames 9am tomorrow morning that's for sure!

I got the Sig ed and was not to happy that the "exclusive" stealth car pack is a bonus for the eb pre order, but that wont change things so I just built a bridge and got over it.

yet eb games at jesmond nsw insist street date hasnt been broken. last time i ever pre order with them. Ill buy my copy at a 24hr kmart at midnight while im working and cancel my pre order with eb tomorrow morning

I'm hesitant to post in this thread again for fear of spam, but the Apex book is worth $30 so I don't see what the big deal is?

I've paid $300 for the SE. $130 is only $10 more than the RRP of any game sold at EB Games anyway.

I know, but I have waited for this for so long I can hold out for another 17 Hrs ( I hope ). Plus I can't make it to the store due to other commitments .

I know I did just to ensure I got the apex book, however why does the standard edition deserve the stealth cars pack and the collectors edition doesn't? I know we get the chrome-line cars (but they're part of the collectors edition), we are paying extra and pre-ordering guaranteeing them a sale, the least they could do is reward us.

However with everything that happened with GTPSP I'm sure the cars may become down-loadable in due course, or they will be like the black cars in GT4. I hope.

Oh well, my rants over. Tomorrow off to get my copy of GT5 and ask the guy at EB for a code sheet so I can get the stealth car pack.

Really? I thought it was the other way around. As it was stated on CE lists as getting the chrome line cars only.

thats prettymuch how my conversation with them went down, then i pointed out adeliade had broken street date and he basically said "no they havnt, head office says nothing about it. it will be ready tomorrow" i told him to cancel it as i will pick it up from kmart at midnight. sucks to be eb

Pre-order collectors - nothing. Chromeline cars come in collectors pack. EB no longer has the collectors edition on their site however I guarantee you it gets the chromeline cars
