Funny thing is every single racing game at E3, Drive Club, Forza 5, Need For Speed, The Crew, etc etc, all showed damage modeling

All except Gran Turismo 6

They can only hide damage, standards, etc for so long.

Then when they do you'll be complaining about bad it looks

Why is that so surprising? It's already common knowledge the standards will return in some way shape or form. I haven't seen any mention of more advanced damage modeling being in GT6. Given Kaz's low interest in damage, I'd be surprised if it changes a great deal.

A EC&W thread on just the announcement of GT6 and already almost 50 pages.

I can't hardly believe it.

I knew GT5 really shook some of us to the core, but this is phenomenal.
Sure, I did my share of complaining about GT5, but after it was released and there was plenty of proof in the pudding, to warrant it.

We know virtually nothing about GT6, except it will release on PS3.
Oh wow, thats a real shocker.
70 million plus PS3 owners to sell GT6 too, and how many PS4 owners?

Admittedly, as with previous installments, we probably will still know virtually nothing about the game until after its released.

I guess that will have to be my only complaint for the time being, but it seems to fall a little short of "Epic".

I very much so doubt the demo will show a livery editor.
No, but there will be people there from Sony/PD who will be talking about the game beyond the demo.

15 years and counting without a livery editor. That is a fact.
Announced in 2006 for Gran Turismo HD that is another fact.
As it was not promised for most of those fifteen years, a sort of invalid fact. As for the 2006 announcement - well, with the cutback on promises experienced in GT5 I wouldn't have expected you to take the same promise seriously this time around, at least not until you have seen that it is, or isn't going to be in GT6.

Until then, you have no fact to stand on...

Prove it? Leave this forum and don't come back anytime soon. Its the GT forum, why waste your time here if you are over it?

I never understood people that tell everybody they're "done" and then stick around. Its like telling your girlfriend its over, then just sit in her flat for days staring at her awkwardly and poking her with a stick once in a while. You just don't do that.

Anyway, to me personally Drive Club looks not much different to any other Racer from the past few years. It could be any PGR, NFS or GRID if you don't show the name. It needs something that sparks my interest.

Earth has left this forum lots of times since the Silverstone event and keeps on repeating it.

How about a 6 months ban.

Stay on topic, and knock off the trash talk.

It's not your place to suggest bans for other members, unless you'd like one of your own.

No point hiding it at E3 really. I'm not saying they have to show how it works, they could just say "we have a livery editor for GT6", that's enough.
If they don't and considering the history of the franchise then it's pretty much believable they don't have one at all.

That was sarcasm right?

Seeing the Z4 gives some promise, but if the rest of the current GT cars (or most) aren't in the game, along with a realistic series (not just 5 races with 5 laps each), then it is kind of a waste.

They should also have the 3 current DTM cars with all (or most) liveries. Along with a realistic DTM series. No excuse not to.

Copy and paste with other race cars/series. Including one or two cool cars from a certain race series and not providing enough competition and races to boot, is just pathetic.

Can you tell I'm losing my patience with the GT franchise? Willing to see what the new one has to offer, though. And it should offer something. Not more of what we already have.

So much detail in the car's interior and we get a view that is so close to the steering wheel we can't even see the left column (let alone the mirror). I'm mad, I wouldn't even be able to tell what car it is if not for the title. You can tell it's a little zoomed in but still, grrrrrrrrrrr

I think the camera is just placed to close to the monitor. Note, there is no HUD visible.

Possibly but I'm gonna keep whining until I see the actual thing and become 100% sure :indiff: I mean, it's the epic whining thread after all.

I don't know what the hell they are waiting for a proper adjustable FOV option.
- Hardcore simracers will adjust it to a 1:1 ratio, eventually turning in-game steering wheel off.
- Other users like you have the option to zoom out and see the interiors.

Without free adjustable FOV no one will be 100% happy.

I don't want liveries if it means they have to cut back on other areas for the sake of saving memory or whatever. I can play Midnight Club or any of the other racing games for that.

And standard cars are still way fun to drive, even if they don't have a detailed interior.

What are the other complaints?

EDIT: Also, the scenery/environments look massively better than GT5.

+1

Taken right out of my mouth.

I've been praying for such a feature for ages. We could reeeeally use one.

Sorry, that comment doesn't make sense. You started off by saying:
And they can't hide there will be no livery editor as well.
...which is why I said you can't really say so until the game actually comes out.

Customisation has been talked about already, but you already know this. If that includes customisation and to what degree will quite likely be revealed before launch, as it has been mentioned already - that's how it classically goes.

Otherwise broad statements like your first quoted above, just come across as griping for the sake of it, or as a result of jumping in without knowing the situation behind it. As you clearly do know something about this, why say a blatantly inflammatory thing like that?

I know that this is the epic whining and crying thread - but please bring something to the table that is more worthwhile and genuine than the equivalent of blowing a raspberry.

To be honest, the most disappointed feature is the standard cars. I was expecting a fresh new game with "cars". Quality > quantity for me. I'm actually surprised seeing how there's another thread regarding users that's satisfied with standard cars in the game. If that's the case, I'm sure PD will have this feature on a GT version on the PS4.

The most exciting part about GT6 is the new physics engine. But that's pretty much it.

A driver cam you can place, aim and adjust parameters as you want. That. FOV is just part of the problem.

That's what most complainers do here. "PD is deliberately holding tracks back for DLC," "They won't discuss new features because there aren't any." Surely we all know the drill by now at "We Hate GT Planet." ;)

Spot on ... to be honest I could put up with the bad sounds and some other issues if the game just simply had a reasonable amount of cars (500-600) with equal quality. The standard and premium cars are like night and day.

You are right, Simon. But it sure puts what PDI gave us on GT5 in a much more positive light.👍

Well it certainly shows that you seemingly need more than two years for your first next gen game no matter how easy or hard it is to develop on the new hardware, sure. I can only imagine what GT5 would have been like in 2007/8 time. Clearly T10 needed more time just as PD did.

I thought that was strange about Forza 5 too, on that monster XBOne. Oh well, we obviously have our own fish to fry.

I know this is the whining thread, but I'm seriously looking forward to doing some cooking in July. :D

Yarp...I know

I shouldn't bother really...but I was in the neighbourhood for some news...

Has anyone ever whined over the timing system?
Why there is only implemented the difference to race leader?
I want to see the difference to the car just in front and behind me? This has always bothered me.

I know that this is the epic whining and crying thread - but please bring something to the table.
I have to bring something to the table? THEY have to bring something to the table. You wish we don't comment until Day One? Ok let's wait for day one then. But they can't hide forever.
