But the roofcam really over exaggerates the transmission whine... Or atleast in my setup, it's deafening!

Hmm and what to whine about... I've seen no E30 M3 in the trailer! :(:(

But still really looking forward to GT6!! :D

Interesting, hope they just make this an easy option without having to resort to 'bypassing the system'.
It would be so logical to being able to adjust the camera with the entire interior modelled and would fix a lot of issues some seem to have with cockpit view in general and would fix issues for particular cars where they chose an odd camera angle.

I must be the only one here who doesn't mind roofcam, it gives me a wider view than a hoodcam. Why not have both?

I love the hood camera. I use it more than in car camera. I just can't stand seeing two steering wheels while racing. So the way my steering wheel rig is set up, I look right over my wheel onto the hood. I would use the cockpit camera if it had a option to remove the hands or the wheel in the game completely.

I still think the hand animation is completely pointless. In all reality the hand animation is the reason that the steering wheel inside the car doesn't turn all the way around.

I think if there's a steering wheel shown then there needs to be hand animations. However the hand animations in GT5 look bizarre. Look at the thumbs in the picture you posted, they aren't even gripping the steering wheel.

I really do not like a cockpit view like shown above in post #1082. You see way to much of the interior of the car and the view of the road ahead is greatly reduced. To me this takes away of the game much more than it adds.

When driving a real car you do not have all that stuff in your field of vision. In that picture the windscreen is less than 1/3 the view top to bottom where in a real car you would barely see any of the roof and the top of the dash. You would need to be in the back seat to have that kind of view.

There is no real reason to ditch the roof cam, they just need to add a hood cam as well. Would also be nice if they had a option to place a right and left mirror at the edges of the screen.

Oh God yes! I'd love to see the E30 in GT6. I was gutted when I discovered it wasn't in GT5.

I don't think anyone wants rid of the roof cam. We just want more options and a proper bonnet cam is something that is sorely missing from Gran Turismo.

I found these @ NeoGaf and then we`re trying to replicate this view but it`s only possible up to 2.11. :yuck:

Does anyone know why the feature was removed? Did it say anything in the change log? I can't imagine why they would remove it.

And apparently, you need to the "secret menu" as well.

I am going to believe that the reason this is not available in GT5 is because it will be an option in GT6.

Even if they are going to implement it in GT6 (and I have this niggling feeling they wont) why would they remove it from GT5? And if it's just to push people to buy GT6, that is a dirty tactic.

It's more likely that the feature hadn't been completed to PD's satisfaction, so was left in but disabled - only when people find out about this stuff, have they taken measures to remove access.

Surely what is to the players satisfaction is more important than what is to PD's. I've been thinking for a number of years now, the phrase "the customer is always right" is one that Kaz is unfamiliar with.

when you own a business you'll understand how flawed and out of date that phrase is.

Looks like PD may have made the jump from the honest Mom and Pop store to big business

Can someone explain how this is possible without it looking and sounding very anti-consumer?
Easy:
GTP: Could you offer any hints about what else may be coming in the future, or how frequently new content may be released?

KY: We’re continuously working to make more and more content for the game, and I think what’s really important is the reactions of our users. We’ve had our DLC and our 2.0 update, and the reaction has been really good so far, but we want to look at the overall feedback to see what we should do from here on, and adjust accordingly. Recently, in an interview at the GT Awards, the Gran Turismo producer Taku Imasaki stated that the recent DLC that was released in Gran Turismo 5, which included various cars, tracks, and gear, has received a total of over one million downloads within two weeks.

Following this, he confirmed that the studio has plans for much more content packs to be released. After receiving these types of sales, its easy to see that they have plenty of backing for more DLC. (November 21, 2011)

lorddevil6969696: Will we have new DLC for GT5?

Yamauchi-san: Yes, we are preparing new DLC content for GT5. Despite it being a long time since GT5′s release, we have received a lot of fan messages asking about new DLC content. And that display of continued interest is something very important to us. (July 1st, 2012)

Finally, the interview helps shed some light on the large scale of downloadable content players can expect to be released for Gran Turismo 6 after its release, as Taku confirms that “at least one additional track per month will be downloadable.” (June 18th, 2013)

Roofcam is actually fairly popular. It's about the only view I use, unless I can't.

Once again, GT6 - and all subsequent Gran Turismos, God willing - should have adjustable driver views, and let us place the driver cam and make settings for what WE want. Then everyone be all happy.

I don't mind paying a small fee for new tracks, if they're actually tracks worth downloading.

Basically actual new tracks, and not them just giving various layouts of tracks already in the game? Also do you mean tracks that are legitimate tracks, like say Watkins Glen...?

As im unlikely to purchase the Xbox One and Forza 5 I shall be returning to Gran Turismo although I hope GT6 is an improvement on GT5.

I shall whine and cry if leaderboards aren't included on GT6 because this is why I stopped playing GT5. In this day and age of gaming leaderboards should be included in all racing games.

Another aspect of GT6 I would like to see changed is the difference in laptimes between controller, wheel users. I used my G25 on GT5 and I loved it but my friends were 2-3 secs a lap slower than me and normally on other racing games i.e Forza we are much closer. This resulted in my friends getting annoyed and I was left playing GT5 on my own.

Finally I would like to see hoppers like in Forza 3/4 being introduced for online racing. I prefer this to public rooms because its then a simple and quick way to find an online race.

I don't really know many people that take leaderboards too seriously.

I mean, they're such a magnet for cheaters it just puts me off. There are time trials in GT5 but no game-wide leaderboards like there were in GT5:P.

I assume they were in Prologue but not GT5 because the number of cars and tracks in Prologue was a lot less, 70 cars and 12 layouts alone. So it was easy for them to make leaderboards and all the back-end infrastructure to support it compared to the massive amount of TT times they would need to keep track of in GT5.

There's over a thousand cars in GT5. Yeah, Forza 4 had them, but they had half the cars and only 26 tracks compared to GT5's, which was over double that.

I think it just comes down to that, personally.

They are definitely capable of coming up with massive time trial tracking though, just look at GT Academy.

What they could do in compromise for GT6 is just have leaderboards for each track, then allow any car, then just create a filter with which players can sort out the times to find their targets (particular cars, car types, tires, power, etc.).

Then again, thinking of it that way, it should be possible to do now... but maybe they just ran out of time implementing it in GT5. We'll probably never know for sure, what the reasoning is.

I realize a lot of people really love that aspect of racing games, since it fills a good niche for them in between regular time trialing and racing online. For me though, I'm kind of on the extreme of both sides in how I want to do things.
I'm either all for racing against people online (not just any people mind you) or taking to a time trial, but one that's fully restricted, no tuning, everyone in the same car, spec, GT-A style.
