"The Gunny" R. Lee Ermey has passed away

Gunny was a really incredible man, from his time in the service, to his acting career, and being a host and presenter. He never compromised or changed the way he presented himself. I mean he has a presence I don’t think anybody will ever be able to replace. I’ll always credit his show “Mail Call” for getting me interested in military history and history in general.

I joined the US Marine Corps at 18 mostly because my Dad had Full Metal Jacket on VHS and I watched it at least a couple hundred times over summer vacations growing up. RIP Gunny.
