Would you want a customizable game interface? (e.g. setting the fov)

From the peripherals you can use on PS4 to the options you could set in the GT Sport.
What settings do you think are a must have in the game?

I personally believe the following must be in the game:
- Field of View - And a very wide slider on it.
- Seat Position - up, down, front and rear positioning.
- Rear View Mirrors - it goes along with the seat positioning.
- Dashboard Light Brightness - In the game it's kinda blinding when racing at night.

- Seat Position - up, down, front, rear, left, right, angle up/down that is savable from in-game with a prompt for saving it to all tracks or just that one you're on.
- Option to remove the steering wheel and/or drivers arms from cockpit view
- Look to apex slider
- Head/cockpit shake slider
- A scalable, movable mini-map or radar system
- Cockpit adjustable brake balance on cars that have it in real life
- A FFB Clipping App would be a great help in determining if your FFB is too strong for your wheel or not.

From top to bottom:
- I get that, so one can fiddle with the seat in the menu or on the track, but don't you mean saving individually each car, not each track?

- Agreed, some people play with the wheel and find it annoying.

- By this you mean that the cockpit camera swing toward the apex of each corner and have it on a slider to set how much angle you want? That's a very good idea!

- Sure, that's good too.

- Yes, but i think a slider is to much at this. I think that 3 or 4 levels of zoom would be fine.

- But this is only possible on race cars and if it was available as an option to tune the car. You know how many buttons a race car has, how would you fit that on a Controller? By pressing multiple buttons at once?

- Sure.

Yes, save to each car separately. A global save for that car on all tracks is probably good enough, but the ability to save a separate setup for each car/track combo might come in handy for some people. But definitely it needs to be car by car.

Exactly. One of the reasons people complain about cockpit view and a realistic FOV is they can't see the apex and this will help solve that problem. As long as it's on a slider it can be as small or big of an effect as you want. It works well on pc sims.

I don't use a controller so I'm not sure if any buttons are available. Does the PS4 come with 2 controllers? Maybe the option of having the second controller interface with the game for a single user?

Not so many people have money or space to have a wheel at least.
So implementing Cockpit adjustable brake balance just for wheel users is not worth working on.

I mean you can make one button lean the balance forward and another one backwards, but i fear
that people might not find it useful.Setting those things before the race is a must on the other hand.

For a start, we could be given more freedom to adjust our HUD like in GT5, which for some reason they decided to downgrade in GT6.

This is actually a pretty important thing that they need to get right because having a fixed point of view is far more limiting than real life and having the correct settings like FOV based on screen size and distance from the screen is also very important but usually means you can't see your mirrors on a single display. And not everyone can or will go out and buy VR. So there needs to be some essential adjustments and features like the ones mentioned in this thread. Other sims handle these things well and PD needs to be looking at those for online racing if they want people to be able to race clean.

How hard can it be?

This should have been implemented right from the start !

When designing the game, especially now with the FIA certification, as drivers we need to be able to have our customizable virtual driving seat.

These settings also need to be saved with our online profile so if we ever need to play on another machine (in the context of a FIA sanctioned race) we would easily access them...

Have you tried contacting Sony or PD?
Maybe you could ask Jordan to give you info on getting in contact with them.

Nobody from the community gets in contact with PD, or at least that's what it seems like 90% of the time.

I've been in contact with PD a couple of times. Send a message to the Gran Turismo facebook page and you might get a reply.

Something I only just realised is how important settings will be for VR as well. It will be interesting to see how this is implemented and if GTS will take into account driver height and allow seating position changes to accommodate our own rigs otherwise there could be a number of people driving Flintstones style dragging their legs through the road.
