The Logitech Driving Force EX.

It's spec reads just like a DFP's spec, but without the DFP Gearstick.
The most interesting thing about it though, is the price.

It's less than half the price of a DFP yet looks exactly like one. DF-EX offers the same buttons, paddles, clamping USB connections etc (Less the Gear Stick).

So.. The biggy questions are..

Does IT SUPPORT 900 Degrees of rotation?

Does it use the same FFB motors, steel bearings and inards as the DFP?

Check out the piccy's and read more about it

Found this on Logitech Website.

"LOS ANGELES — May 17, 2005 — Logitech (SWX: LOGN) (NASDAQ: LOGI), the world´s leading manufacturer of force feedback gaming wheels, today at the E3 Electronic Entertainment Exposition unveiled the Logitech® Driving Force™ EX wheel, a one-wheel-fits-all solution for the PlayStation®2 computer entertainment system. Logitech´s new wheel comes with two interface plugs: the standard PlayStation 2 controller plug, ensuring the wheel will work with any PlayStation 2 game; and a USB plug that allows the Logitech Driving Force EX wheel to deliver realistic force feedback."

So that's 2 connectors!! Could be lining it up to work on the Xbox 360 and new PS3.

My friend has the Logitech Driving Force pro steering wheel...I must say the 900 degree turning wheel is great. I just bought the EX and It feels just the same has the Pro edition. Feedback is nice and strong! Even if the wheel doesn't turn at 900 degrees it's still a great racing wheel and is a good buy if you don't won't to spend $150 on the Pro edition. Works great with GT4...even better if you use the racing wheel with the F1 car that you earn in the game. So, I give this steering wheel a A+

So.. DF-EX appears to have similar FBB as DFP, but not 900 degrees of rotation.

Can anyone confirm if what this wheel's rotation settings are, and if like the DFP will it work on a PC?

looks more like a way of making more money off an existing product than something of an improvement

Id pass on it and get the DFP or the GT5 wheel whenever that comes out

If it supports 900 degrees, I might consider buying it but again, I had two DFP til today and both wheel mounted shift doesn't last very long. When ever I press up shift once, it will actually shift 2-3 gears up

So I end up using the normal stick gear shift.

2... It's only a new version of the DF

And a MUCH MORE BETTER one at that!!!! 👍
If I didn't have my DFP nor could even afford to buy one, I'd go w/this one over the current Piece of sheetz DF...that's for sure!

wow, doesnt look bad at all, I think this'll be the replacement for the old williams wheel, but ill have to have a look at prices for DFPs anyway since theyre prety low over here.

I found this posted by "Lord" Tom" on the Wingmanteam forums..

"The new DF-EX is not a step up from your DFP. It is more of a cousin of the regular DF, single-turn only, and similar force feedback. It does have an additional plug to act as a regular controller in games that don't have support for USB wheels (even though I never thought that was a very good idea in the first place, because gamepad input code *does* have a lot of deadzone.)"

So the DF EX has similar FFB to the original Driving Force and offers just a single turn, again like the original Driving Force.

My new DF EX wheel paddles do not work as shifters using GT4. I have an older Driving Force wheel and the paddles work as shifters. The new EX wheel has two connectors. When the game connector only is plugged, the paddles work, but there is no force feedback. When the USB is plugged in, force feedback works, but only the L1 and R1 will function as shifters. This is using a PS2 slim console.

As a side note the wheel does not support 900 degre rotation.

Hi
I want to disconnect the pedals, and only use the wheel in Gran Turismo 4.
My problem is that no matter how i change settings in GT4 I can only drive in reverse ! When I press triangle i drive backwards..and circle breaks... and thats it! I have not been able to reconfigure the wheel so that I can play GT4whithout the pedal set.

Is there a way I can configure GT4 so that I can use the triangle button on my "Driving force EX" wheel to accelerate\drive ?

(have new slim ps2, with usb 1 connected)

Is there a way to make the paddle shifters at the back to work as shifters because it sucks using the buttons on the front?

Edit: Don't worry logitech said no so im probably just going to swap the l2 r2 wirng with the paddles one. T%hat should work but its risky but i don't have warranty so i dont have to worry about voiding it
