After just now racing, I thought we (or maybe just I) needed this thread! It is to discuss when something in the game drives you crazy, but you also love it that it works this way.

My example:

I'm racing my muscle car in the muscle car series. It's hard to control the damn thing with my DS3. I've finally won the race...but because I got bumped off the track at some point, my good time is not valid! So, even though I already have a 1st place finish, I go back...over and over again...and try to set a decent valid event time...so I'm not embarassed by my only valid AutoLog time that sucks! And I continue to get bumped off the track, so I keep trying again...and again...

Is there something wrong with me?

You're setting some quick times in Autolog with a DS3! Nice work 👍

I myself have a love/hate relationship with some of the A class events. I've decided to give them a rest and move on to GT3 for now.....

I see you often in AutoLog also, JeffKill! And it seems like you're usually a bit above me!

I'm coming to get you...

:: plays scary music::

I shiver in horror at the thought of attempting this game with my DS3 haha

It's hard enough with my DFGT - but ya I have the same problem

Finally get in first but no lap time :(

Nothing wrong with you at all.I do this as well.I call it hotlap fever.

My problem is not so much the being bumped off part(which happens to me too).Mine is that i have to push my car as fast as i can and be in the right gear and right speed for each corner. If i feel i didn't do good enough I'll re-run the track.Sometimes i become a bit obsessed at times and will run the track many times over.

Back when i used to play Forza i would Hotlap for hours on one track just to shave a few seconds off.I used to be a Tuner on Forza so it was two obsessions at once.

Here's one: it makes perfect sense to be able to tune the steering lock per car and per track. However... Since loaner cars are untunable and the default settings are for wheel users (way too high for controller users) it makes driving the fast cars far more difficult for controller users than it should be.

I had a really hard time with The CCX and Apollo hotlaps last night and gave up on the Veyron because even a subtle flip of the stick represents more than 400 degrees of rotation on the loaners. It's a twitchfest!

I find it's way to low for wheel users. I set all my cars locks at 40 now.

So they chose the middle-way which is too low for wheelers and too high for controller users... At least we're all equally handicapped then :sly:

However, best solution would be to not have the steering lock per car - or have a preferred global setting that can be overridden per tuning or something.

I have a wheel and can't drive them. CCX being the worst. BUT I still need to try them after this latest patch (1.02)

Finished the last single type event on the GT3/Works/Single event series last night. It's the one where you drive the Mclaren F1. The first race went fine, no biggies, came in first. The second race though... Donington Park... Spent countless of times trying to pass the first corner w/o being rammed or ram hard braking AI. And then the upcoming fast corners where just as hard as the AI didn't allow me to use the brakes, or they would push me off the track. Was super pleased when I managed to get in at a 4th position, and then 3rd on the Nurburgring making me 1st total. Pain in the behind.

I race on hard btw..
