Well, I would like to hear the views of GTP on this.

People do it even if they are married, or worse, engaged. Stud-bachelors even brag about it at times, but what of paying for sex?

EDIT: Please dont confuse this with the issue of legalisation of pros's debate...

if youre single and the woman is a professional hooker rather than a woman doing it to get out of poverty or to support a drug habit then i see no problem....were all conscenting adults...

I agree with the "We're all consenting adults" bit.

As long as - as Turbo says it is not for drugs or to remove the hooker from poverty - then it shouldnt be scorned at. Additionally, it shouldnt take food out of the mouth of the transactee's dependants (if any) and shouldnt be done with disregard for safety.

[..... I think I know milefile's take on this one...]

well if the two come to a mutual agreement of sex for cash, with no other emotional attachment ans whatnot, I say go for it. to me it doesnt matter if she's willing, he wants it (or vice/versa and all the possible combonations), if there is an agreement, its all good.

Since praying doesn't actually do anything, it shouldn't hurt.

It is indicative of an odd mind.

Well there's praying for sex, and there's paying for sex, and they're two pretty different things, and the poll is about one of them and not the other...

Just for the hell of it, let's hear it first.

Something to do with "Sex has been commercialised and eaten away by the rotten virtues of a capitalist society"?

hey....if everybody gets what they wanted in the end(and sometimes a little more) then what the hell, have at it

no, no....i bet it's "only Socialists have sex with prostiutes...."

something to do with them being inferior probably.....or words to that effect..

change the bloody record man....

has anyone thought about the other side of the story?
would you like to be paid for sex? would it not feel like selling your soul to the devil? what horrible act would they do to you after you accept their money? could you face your family? could you tell your partner?
i think my dignity is worth more than anyone can make in an hour

a talk show on local tv interviewed some pros's. Some said they did it for the money (cos the money was so good) and others said simply cos they enjoyed doing "it" a lot and getting paid for it.

You are right though. It must take a special kind of toughness to survive that industry.

You're both wrong. But I don't have time to bother with this right now.

Morality is a choice. Different people choose different things at different times for different reasons. It would be immoral for me to pay for sex, but it wouldn't have been ten years ago, when I was single, had no son, etc. I'd evaluate it on the basis of what it harms or benefits, and that varies for individuals. Morality is personal.

ok, so on the real issue now...

I don't know about this one. I mean, it's a victimless crime. I tend to think of immoral things as actions that hurt someone else. If the prostitute has consented to receiving money for sex... it doesn't seem all the immoral to me.

Would I do it? No. Is it because of morality? Not really. I just think there's more to sex than the physical act.
