The most amazing cockpit/simulator project ever!

This thing is absolutely amazing. Not only is it a sweet looking cockpit, but it actually moves too!

I'm so jealous, this machine is such a beauty i'm lost for words.

It looks impressive, but I've always thought moving simulators like that would just make me ill! However good it is you still haven't got the realistic forces of movement from driving a real car, and the lack of scenery going past would probably confuse the signals from your body/eyes/balance.

Also one might say it's a little excessive to play a game...

A bigger screen and situate it in a blacked out room and that thing would be perfect. There doesn't even seem to be much delay between feeding in a control and the contraption actually moving. Thats the one thing that i've always thought would be a draw back.

In a dark room with a 3 monitor setup, i don't think your senses would be confused. I have a lot of respect for someone who, not only can spend so much time and effort building this beast, but can make it respond so accurately.

Some people also say it's a little excessive to buy a steering wheel so, to each his (or her) own.

I definitely don't want to take anything away from an engineering perspective and it looks like it works very well, I just have a sneaking suspicion that I could buy, prep and track a real car for the money that thing probably set back... Whilst I enjoy more realism creeping into games, in the end it's still a game.

I do agree about using more monitors and a darker room to enhance it though.

homeforsummer you forget the running costs of having a race car. Gas, travels, spare parts everything it´s much more expensive

I don't forget them, I just didn't need that for my point. A race car would be expensive but to simply get on track in a lightly prepared road car isn't 👍

I've already admitted it's impressive, but I expect that even self-built that cost thousands and thousands of dollars.
