The most fun I've had in GT7 with my clothes on

Having completed all the cafe menus, missions, licences and really put off Sport mode (I'm at Sportmanship C because I keep hitting people) and feeling a bit jaded, on Saturday night for the first time I tried Multiplayer mode.

I wasn't sure what this was at first. Lobbies where people create settings for...sometimes not even races. It's weird, sometimes you get into a lobby and people are just driving around with no purpose but that's cool.

I put in the criteria for Nurburgring and 'My Region' and found a room with 12 others, which is a big number, most of the others only had 2 or 3 max.

So I start driving the ring in my Lambo V12 VGT, which is really fast on the straight but pretty bad everywhere else for the other 7mins.

As I turned into the straight and kinda zoning out, going at 224mph, I was abruptly awoken by the sight of a Peugeot VGT heading towards me in the wrong direction. Not being prepared for this at all I could not avoid the inevitable collision as he smashed into me head-on.

Reeling from the impact and worried if the other guy was ok I pulled over to recover from my injuries. The poor guy was going the wrong way around the ring, I blamed the signage.

Then I went back on the track to continue my hot lap and out of nowhere he smashed into me from the rear, at least this time he was travelling in the right direction.

I reached the end of the straight and pulled over and he did the same. Apropos of nothing he was French but I think it explains a lot.

I decided to see if this was just an unfortunate set of circumstances so I turned around and went back along the straight in the wrong direction. He smashed into me for a third time. Then I turned around and went back down the straight when he hit me again.

We did this for 25mins, just going back and forth, not a word was spoken, no messages passed between us, just the tacit understanding that we were trying to kill ourselves and I was honestly crying I was laughing so much.

10/10. If you ever get into a head-on smash on the 'ring by a French guy send him my love.

The most fun I had was with the AI actually.

Something obviously happened up front (good old rabbit chase) and I caught up with them as they were all in a massive pileup not managing to back up and continue, so I just sped past the suckers and was heading for an easy win. But oh no, I was penalised 2.5 seconds because I had ignored "the yellow flag", what yellow flag there was no yellow flag. And then two of the AI started using their nitro boosts (what the hell), so just massacred me on the straights and soon worked up a 10 second lead again. I don't know if I even had to serve the yellow flag penalty, at least I didn't notice anything.
As I was on my way to 3rd, I couldn't stop laughing as the pack had organised another pile up in the exact same corner, and although I didn't win because of the AI cheating we had all had a brilliant day on the track.

As much as tight racing is enjoyable, these nonsense happenings are what I like most about the game, even though they are plainly brought on by bugs.
