Well the Mustang finally crapped itself, I mean really crapped itself. The engine kinda just caught on fire and it was toasted. So me and a friend sold it to a junk yard for 100 bucks. Well it did this last night.

So my dad was like your buying a good American made car this time. We're going to the Chevy dealership. So me and him went and looked around the lot and I found the sweetest looking Blazer. A Black fully loaded Xtreme. I took it for a test drive and fell in love with it. So I talked to the sale guy and well I pick it up tomarrow. Hopefully I won't mess this thing up. I'll get some pictures up either tomarrow or saturday.

Its got the Vortec V-6 and it quite fast and powerful as I found during the test drive.

This will be the last car I buy for a while I hope...I really do since its teh first new car I've ever bought.

Ya its really nice and the Xtreme package makes it low and lovely!

I probably would have put more thought into my purchase. But if your father is paying for it, I guess you wouldnt care too much about value. IMO, new cars are usually a waste of money.

So how much? what are some of the engine specifications? I do not know much about blazers.

New Cars are a waste?:irked:

Uhhhhh. I said IMO. You have a REALLY hard time understanding posts, AND the difference between opinion and fact.

IMO new cars are a waste because you are paying so much just because they are "new". Like they say, the car loses x% of its value when its driven off of the lot. If you can buy a GOOd used car, it will almost always be better than buying new, IMO. An exception of course being if you fall in love with a car that is made in 2003 at the earliest.

The main reason why I think this is because when I think about how much a new Kia sephia or other very cheap car costs new, then I look at what that money could have bought used, I cringe. Another reason being that I just dont like many new cars. The cheapest car of interest to me would be a G35 sport coupe or Impreza WRX. I do not have the money to spend on one of those at this time in my life.

For example, an old M3 in excellent shape cost me $12k. I mean excellent. If a car is solidly made and well maintained, a car with 100k can drive like one with 20k miles. If I bought new, I would be lucky to get a chevy metro for that price.

Alrighty I paid for most of it and my dad paid for what I couldn;t afford. It was $19,594.43 (I'm looking at the paper work) . I paid about 15,000 of it and my dad the rest.

Its got a V-6 Vortecs motor in with 190hp @ 4400rpm and 250lb ft @ 2500rpm. 4 speed auto with overdrive. Its got the Z27 sport suspension which lowers it 3 or 4 inches I think.

Its Black and there is no racing stripes. I'll post picture prolly monday since I'm getting a digital camera.

cool, id like to see a picture of it. Im not sure how it will look. Is it just a lowered Blazer? Kind of like the ford lighting?

Im sure that motor has some badass torque. Im not used to seeing and understanding the specs of a truck/SUV, so how much does it weigh? 0-60 and 1/4 times?

umm I'm not sure on 0-60 and 1/4 and I'm sure it weights a lot. I'll get some pictures soon

i don't have problems understanding, i was just asking.:irked:

Here is the picture off chevy.com. It looks like this with out stripes.

Before the SRT-4 I was thinking of getting this used Dodge Durango R/T. It was used but only about a year old and was asking US$15,000. Had around 15,000 miles and some upgrades. Im starting to have second thoughts as it is more practical in some ways and it has more HP and a V8...

In part I have to agree. My wife's "new" van is a '01. It had under 20k miles on it when we drove it off the lot. I paid under $20,000[b/] including tax and I put 10K down. (So I only owe $9 g's on it.)
An '03 was sitting on the showroom floor with a sticker of $33,500 and change. So, by my lights, I saved nearly $15,000[b/] buying a low milage two year old van.

I ain't dissin' Street. Joey seems to fall into the sweetest car deals that have ever existed. I almost expect him to come on and tell us about the Porsche some woman had for sale for $50.
(It seems her hubby ran off with the secretary and wanted the wife to sell his car and send him half the cash. Ostensibly for his living expenses in Cancun).

people like that make me mad!!

on an e30 m3 forum I frequently post on this guy just picked up a near mint M3 from some guy in arizona for $4k. For e30s there is generally a 15k rule. That is, expect to pay 15k for a pretty good car that needs nothing. If you buy one for 12k expect around 3k of work. This usually works out, but $4k? I paid $12k for mine and I considered that a steal. I hate it when people either dont know what they have is worth, or they dont care.

I wish I wish. But ya I just know were to look. If you were to see my room I got used car books all over the place. Remember thats how I like to turn some money is by selling used cars. But the only reason the BLazer was so cheap was do to a GM discount and the fact between me and my daddy-o we paid cash for it. I really need that digi to take some pictures. At the lastest I'll have it Monday I hope.

Go to police auctions. They sell 'Non-claimed' from Police raids and cars that were impounded and never picked up for very cheap/ reasonable prices. I wouldnt mind going to texas to get a car. Some poeple like it as it is a good place to test out your top speed. Usually they are caught and their car is impounded and if not claimed its put on auction. So you can get some good cars for cheap prices (wish they sold Ferrari's for $100  )...

What caused your mustang to burn? Cars don't just burst into flames.I hope you have better luck with your Blazer.I've been in the automotive repair industry for 30 years. I've lost all faith in american cars and trucks. I own four vehicles , they're all foreign!!!

The motot caught on fire due to a fuel line leak I believe. Thats the only thing I can figure.

I'm really getting impatient wiht FedEx. I hope they didn't lose my camera!
