Hey guys, Ive been lurking around the forums since ever before gt4 came out. But I guess I'm still a newbie :dopey:

Well I've been playing Gran Tourismo since GT1. Well I guess that's it.

So, here are some pics of my racing cockpit:

It does look a little messing around but I plan on cleaning it up a little. organizing the wires and such. The speakers I'm using are Altec Lansing XA3021. They may look small but man they pack punch. and I only got them for $30.:dopey:

Nice dude, do you have any plans for what else you're gonna do to it? If you need any help with anything us cockpit junkies will be happy to help.

Welcome ot GTP dude.

Welcome to GTP there thatgt4guy!

Nice setup! 👍
Looks like it gets the job done quite well! :D

Have you had a chance to run any endurance races yet? If so, how's the seating for those long 2+ hour drives?

doing 2hr+ endurance races in cockpits are where its at, I find the 200 mile races to be the most fun.

thatgt4guy, does the table stay nice and sturdy? It looks like the legs wobble about a fair bit. Maybe you should put another piece of wood across the bottom or screw some wooden triangles into the corners of the joints to give it some more support.

Thanks guys, well the the legs are just a tiny bit wobbly but after a awhile i can't really notice. Yah I think i might put a piece of wood across it make it more sturdy but for right now its fine.

As for how comfortable the sit is, well its actually pretty comfortable. I have done one endurance race, The 200m New York, i think and I held up good but i might add some cushions or something to make it perfect.

As for whats next Im not really sure, i might paint it, not sure what color though. What do you guys think?

I've B-Specced the 2 hour new york race. Thats one of the few races i have left to a-spec. I really enjoy the 200s. As for the paint job, i'd add the other piece of wood first

With a piece of wood on it, it would have a similar structure to the table on my cokpit (link in my sig) which is very stable and I dont get any ovement from it at all.

Looks like you've got your pedals flat on the floor. I would think that would feel a bit awkward? I've got mine tilted probably 30 to 60 degrees. This puts them kinda high off the floor. So then I cut a block of wood (out of a 4x6). I rest my heel on the block and it works out perfect. I might be able to post some pictures (haven't done it here before). Let me know if it would be helpful.

I just looked at vtec_guy's cockpit. His pedals are what I'm talkin' about. Except the DFP pedal base is longer which puts them farther off the floor. Thus the needed block of wood.

hey, goixoye, yah that would be helpful. Post away :D Well to tell you the truth it doesn't feel awkward at all. if it will make me drive better I'm all for it

Nice setup! 👍 Only recommendation I can think of is painting it. In another thread I saw, the member had sprayed his cockpit black. Looked really nice. :)

yah I saw it too. i want to paint it black but I want something different. if i can't think of another color I'll just paint it back. Anyone got any suggestions on what color I should paint it?

Hey man, those speakers, do you have to have reciever of some sort to hook them up or do they just plug into the TV or PS2 somewhere???

Nice cockpit btw.

Thanks. nope no need for a reciever. Everthing you need to hook up the speakers are included with it. It comes with a diagram on how to hook up the speakers, but it took me a couple minutes to figure out how they cords went to where i kinda felt a little retarded:dunce:. But maybe that's just me But the speakers are now discontinued. It's too bad though cuase they are really good speakers for what they did cost.
