The car stands 58mm higher and 174mm longer than it's previous model and has a longer wheelbase too, making it the largest Clio to date. Styling cues have been taken from the Megane, with a crease running the length of the body into the bulbous rear end.

The boot carries 288 litres because of the increased wheelbase. Up to eight airbags are included, along with anti-whiplash headrests and ISOFIX childseat mounting points in the front and back (I thought no child under 10 is allowed to sit in the front of any car :odd: ).

UK specifications have'nt been confirmed yet but all models will get a full size spare wheel. Extras will include adaptive headlights, an MP3 audio system and key-less go which Renault claims is unique among superminis.

The basic chassis is shared from the mini-MPV Modus. Transmissions will be a manual or a paddle-shift sequential option. Power is from a 75bhp 1.2, 100bhp 1.4 , a 110bhp 1.6 or a 140bhp 2.0 which will join the range next spring. Diesel engines include 1.5-litres with 70, 85 or 105bhp outputs.

The prices will range from £9,000-£14,000, roughly £1000 more than the current line-up.

Personaly, I quite like this car. I think it will do quite well. 👍

Pretty decent looking. Can't wait to see how it looks with a widebody and a V6 in the backseat. (Is it even likely they'll do that again?)

i dont think its nice at all, the back is too flat, quite like a Toyota Yaris at the back! no where near as nice as the model thats out the now

heres a pic of the new Clio Sport - The Interior - And a comparison

Megane-ish is right...mabey they shoulda left off a couple of those design cues. the top one has to be a test mule...it's on black steels. I'll take the paint chip on that bottom production one, though

Thats definately the megane wheels thats on the second pic the green one! maybe they want it to look like a small megane tho! big mistake right enough!

The green one is not accurate, the real front of the new Clio will look different. I have seen pictures of how the new CLIO RS will look at my lokal dealer. The green one looks like a foto-shopped Megane or something.

Don't like it at all I would rather watch dry paint insted of looking at the new clio.

Your joking right because you seem to be funny of late.
He's sane. I like it very much also. In a few years time I wouldn't mind it as my first car, only if Renault sort out their reliability problems that is.

It's a word I rarely use in describing cars, but this thing has kind of a cute look to it. Normally when I think of the Renault Clio, first thing to mind is the Clio with the mid-engine and rear-wheel drive. Perhaps this is the newest face of Renault styling. I don't live in Renault's native France, so I won't really know what Renault style is like at first hand. Regardless, looks pretty nice.

I don't think Renault have a family face. They've just launched the new Laguna and that has a different look to it.

i still think the old clio in gt3 is the best. this post-modern look that car companies are going for are totally slaughtering their cars.
