So, with the Jag being premium now, will all the people who own the standard version get a free upgrade?

Another thought along these lines - Given that it's exactly the same car, do you think the Standard model will be removed from the UCD cycle? It seems to make no sense to me that they would have two completely different levels of visual finishing detail for the exact same car simultaneously.

I'm a tad disappointed that the countryman is not 4WD... :/

Same here. Along with the Leaf, I don't care for yet another FWD Mini. We already got a bunch of them in the game. 👎

I want to say yes, but how is PD going to know who has the DLC and who doesn't? Unless that coding update comes with the car. But if it were to disappear it would at least increase (minimally, but hey! it's the right direction) the chances of some of the other cars coming up in the UCD lots.

It's an interesting question. We'll have to wait and see.

Well, there goes 90% of my interest in the Countryman's inclusion :(

My thoughts would be a blanket removal of the coding which puts it into the UCD cycle, regardless of DLC purchase. Perhaps to incentivise people into buying the DLC, just to get access to that particular car.

By doing this though, it would make the standard model possibly the first truly rare car in the game, as you could only be able to own this car if you have it before this theoretical update. The 1988 birthday ticket would also, logically, only give you the premium model, thus essentially removing access to the older version completely from that point onward.
Interesting thought, or PD's dilema, on the future of the standard model. :sly:

This list if far from accurate, for example, you can't get a Standard Enzo, F2007 or Lancia Delta, and that's just from a cursory glance over the list. (Unless you port from PSP, which I don't really count as a "standard" in the true sense, as you can't buy it from the UCD - Quote - "*When the car is included in both models, the Standard version can be imported from Gran Turismo for PSP®")

(Looking forward to seeing how this plays out,,,)

Next DLC will include the 4wd version....

Seriously, why indeed include a FF SUV, in real life it probably makes sense for those who just want the looks/questionable image of an SUV and don't ever use it offroad but in a driving game with offroad tracks it just doesn't.

I'm pretty disappointed that the 4wd/awd car didn't make it in yet... Hopefully they do it in the future.
I don't know about the real model, but if PD will include the 4x4 version as well, and if it's got the same engine, then the FF version will have less traction at low speed but a higher top speed (due to lower drivetrain losses) and might have an edge on fast tracks (the majority in GT5) over the 4x4 alternative.

Just the Cooper S, Cooper D and Cooper SD models have ALL4 (as mini calls it)

The One, One S and Cooper are FF only.

As the image says it's the cooper S version. It should have the ALL4

Is everyone that excited about more over-priced, pointless DLC that the fact that the tyre wear is still ridiculously wrong doesn't matter?

Is a 30km oval worth more than the game losing the 'Real' from Real Driving Simulator?

PD need to sort this out. I can understand them wanting to change the tyre differences as far as each compound is concerned, but make the hards last longer, not the softs last less. I just ran a conservative run round the Nurburgring 24 hour course in a Petronas Lexus with no downforce and only got to the right hand corner before the Karousel on lap 2.

I am a good driver and race in an international online league. This is killing our league and I bet everyone else is the same. I know we could switch off tyre wear, but that's the 'Real' part gone again.

I don't know if anyone from PD reads any of this, or even cares, as they're raking in money from the DLCs they keep dishing out, but something needs to be done. For the sanity of a lot of people.

Overpriced? Perhaps. Then again so are movie tickets and coffee at Starbucks. And people usually buy overpriced coffee more on a daily basis than Dlc.

Maybe people do buy overpriced coffee on a daily basis, but would they if the cups didn't last long enough for the drink to be enjoyed before it spilt all over the floor?

You completely missed my point, as a lot of people do. If you want to collect the cars and paint them and play Ken and Barbie with your drivers then that's fine, but if you want a 'Real' Driving Simulator, then GT5 is no longer it.

[...] that the fact that the tyre wear is still ridiculously wrong doesn't matter?

Well, not everyone plays GT5 for its online (matter the fact I'd say that those who do are in minority), so tire wear doesn't bother them at all. I for example play nothing but time trial/quick race after I've done A-Spec, so I couldn't care less for proper tire wear. But new cars and tracks? I'd buy even 3 DLCs a month if there only were so many. GT5 is just a video game, it'll never simulate reality in 100%, you seem to care so much about the tire wear but what about the engines? Why don't they blow up when you overtune them? There can be many many more examples of how GT5 fails to be a 'real' driving simulator, so just enjoy the game as it is or quit playing it, simple as that.
