is the plastic top of the gear shifter. Why didn't they stick a little piece of stainless steel there to match the detailing on the wheel & pedals?

I was thinking that with the dfp, it feels tacky. They should do another model with a leather shifter and a steel cap ontop. And a leather wheel would be great so you dont get all the rubber in your hands lol

Theres one obvious flaw about the steering wheel,it doesn't have a handbrake!!!!How could they forgotten about it?Its the most obvious thing in a car,yet they didn't have it!I'm upset that most steering wheel companies (Madcatz,Logitech,Thrustmaster,Saitek, etc) but the cheap one's come with a handbrake and comes less than 100$!This is just plain bad,i know it was a revolutionary steering wheel, but with no handbrake?Who am i to complain (its still a steering wheel.a good one at that)should have complained to Logitech.....

Sure it keeps the cost down a bit, but I agree that the materials used to finish the gear lever are not up to the standard of the rest of the product. As an alternative, it would be nice if the gearknob could be removed and replaced with a real one. Unfortunately that would probably mean bye bye warranty.

Personally I think that while the leather and brushed steel is all really nice, it's not actually neccessary. My biggest problem with the wheel is that the understeer feedback is unresolved and weak compared to the oversteer feedback... but that might be the game's fault, not the wheel's. Personally I don't miss the handbrake as I never use it, though if it had a proper handbrake, perhaps I would use it more often.

Well,to me a handbrake is a must (even though i don't need it for racing. But for drifting, yes) i don't care if its too expensive to develop or even unnecessary but if you want realism, put a 🤬 handbrake! How am i going to drive realistic without a handbrake?(i'm making too much nonsense with this but hey,i'm a perfectionist ;) )

My pops just ordered me a g25 yesterday!!!
Heres a little secret, Tigerdirect.com or tiger-direct.com, has it for $199, and it comes with most wanted. AWESOME! at 200, it is completely worth it. It only has a month warranty right? i was already thinking about a shift knob, and it hasn't even arrived. Also, i was wondering about, could I wire up my button from the g25, and just lead it to another switch, the Hand brake? without removing a buton? thanks if you can help.

How much more could a little stainless steel disc cost?!

The G25 set-up is so quality-looking, except for that little plastic cap on the shifter (also the H-shifter/sequential-shifter dial, which, however, is not so bothersome). It seems sort of strange to take the trouble to wrap the shifter in leather & then stick a cheapo piece of plastic on top.

I have to admit the leather steering wheel is really nice to use, especially compared to the super-rubbery feel of the DFP (I had read a review on-line where someone had described the G25 as using "cheap plasticky leather". In fact, I think it is a good quality leather with a great feel. 👍)

It might have to make it cost $400!
If it is possible to unscrew unnoticeably, you could put another one on, or,
Put a seperate leather sac over it, and stretch it tight.

From looking at my wheel it seems that an aftermarket shifter cap would fit in the same space. It really doesn't bother me that it's plastic because it reduces the weight of car. Being funny there.

to reduce the weihgt of my car, I stripped it! a little shifter cap doesnt make a difference... carpet, back seats, trim and center console does!

To reduce the weight of my car I get out of it, then it's about 250# lighter only 1600# then.1973 MG Midget.

I fill all the tubes with helium.....

If I have any left over, I fill my lungs with it too! Every little bit helps :)

Replace with Nitros= Funny car Breathe in nitros you have not only funny car but funny driver.

lol opel,
I want my G25 to feel as real as possible, possibly even investing into a little bit of surround sound, and using a real car seat.
I like the feeling of my father's car, I think im gonna use some spare wood and create a cockpit even,
If it feels weird enough and you feel you need to make it feel better, just wrap it in something, tennis grips anyone?

One thing to remember about the G25 wheel is that it's not packaged very well. It's a tight fit in the box so be sure to take your time opening it up when you get it, the cords are a tight fit. I'm lazy so until I get my cockpit built (about 1/3 the way done) I'm using a "portable tool stand" from Sears that works quite well. Tool stand item #922269. I have a 55" hdtv and a Pioneer sound system.

another thing to remember is that tiger direct doesnt say whether it is in stock, mine says back ordered... :( I don't wanna pay 300 for it. nad They also stopped selling the wheel, except in a combo with NFS,
Partial Backorder - Some of these items are currently on backorder, and will ship as soon as we receive stock on them. ( We are currently doing a physical inventory. Your order may temporarily show on backorder. Please allow 48 hours for your status to update. )
We're sorry, the product you have searched for is no longer available for sale.
However, product information for this product is still available by clicking on the link below.

Logitech G25 USB Racing Wheel (PC & Playstation 2)
what the heck? they dont sell it alone anymore, thankfully, that's not what i payed for but still, why does this happen ever so often to me? ever so foten.

sorry, but yeah, maybe it wouldve ended up being 5 million more dollars ot make the make the machines or something, IDk their reasons, but the whole shift know looks crappy, better off just doing what you can with it till the warranty is gone.

You use it for drifting?! Bah! Learn to drift with S2's/S3's and throttle control...thats all I use! :P

If you guys are serious about wanting a more high quality version of the G25, you should take a look at the *JL-G25*

I came across that site as well and I'm thinking of buying this modified wheel. But, before I take the plunge, I was hoping to hear from anyone who may already have experienced this wheel. Anyone?

is there anywhere you can send the shifter and pedals off to to get the mods for them done. i would love to have the shifter mods done but am pretty sure i will ruin it, plus the ones i have seen on here look a little to strong.

simple make one out of a toggle or momentum switch. what i'm gonna use is a toggle switch like the ones in a rally car or heli a little box with a stick poking out of the top like this / so you can just attach a lever straight to it =] anyone done this before? then wire it to one of the buttons on the gear stick bit like the (o) button
