The Opel Vauxhall thing.

This might be a bit silly but I just won a car, a Vauxhall Astra infact (probably from the DTM series) and I was wondering if it was possible that I could get this car rebranded as an Opel instead? I heard some rumours of people saying you can switch the brand around by changing the language but so far I've had no success despite owning a PAL (Australian) copy of the game.

I do think there was a glitch in GT2 though that let you enter Opel events if you changed the language, despite clearing the events whilst they were classed as Vauxhall.

Haven't seen you in ages, liam2maps. Not sure about GT3, but yes...in the GT2 PAL version, you could switch languages and therefore do Opel and Vauxhall races...and thereby get over 100%!

^ Yeah long time no see. I remember that trick in GT2 too. It sounds a bit silly but I prefer the Astra to be branded an Opel rather than a Vauxhall.

It's not silly. I prefer a Mustang to be branded as a Mustang, not that silly 4-cylinder weakling from the 70's (Mustang II). I did a bit of racing in Opels early on in GT2...the Astra as I remember can win quite a lot of racing with limits up to about 500 hp and more in GT2.

I doubt the Astra was ever badged a Vauxhall whilst in the DTM anyhow.

You can change the body to that of a Vauxhaul instead of opel, It will give you the name your looking for also, It will take Mk's/Action Replay or a GS, The different body's are there though!

All the Opels were badged Vauxhaul, There just hidden in the US, I think there standard as Pal.

Start a new game on 2nd memory card with language option Set to German, French, Italian and Spanish.

Opel is now available instead of Vauxhall.
Earn enough cash to buy all Opels and win appropiate races to win prize cars, cant remember which ones you win or buy anymore.
Trade Opels from Opel save into your English language game.

Ah Fantastic post mate, I expect brilliance from a fellow Sydneysider. I thought I could do it with one memory card In any case if someone has the language set as English, and does that trick, do you think when he takes the car to the tuner it will say Opel or Vauxhall.

From memory when in English and you take an Opel to the tuner I am pretty sure it says Opel.
