They may be a bunch of bumbling french idiots but the passing of Prost GP is still cause for a "respect" thread.

So post your favourite pictures of the last 6 years and let's have a gallery of rememberance for the best comedy team F1 has had since Lola-DAMS.

The PC version of F1-2001 (with patches).

I took the Prost out for a few memorial runs, after finishing 4th (Burti was 7th) at their home circuit in france I took it to Indianapolis.

This is me on the straight in HHF's car at about 190mph.

The 1997 Prost-Mugen JS45--designed by Ligier because Prost bought the team almost at the beginning of the year

The 1998 Prost-Peugeot AP01--didn't do much other then let down the F1 masses after the potential they showed in 1997.

11005.jpg

The 1999 Prost-Peugeot AP02--the beginning of the end.

11006.jpg

The 2000 Prost-Peugeot AP03--downhill, no points scored at all. The end of Gauloises support and Peugeot's.

2001 Prost-Acer AP04--a strong showing by HHF at Spa in qualifying was the highlite of a dismal year.

Go little guy go! The Prost JS45 at Austria in 1997, Trulli leading before an engine fire ended the dream (and Prost's best chance at winning...?)

Thats the prost I like the best BTW--I loved using that car in F1 '97 on the PSX

I love the shape of the AP-04 sadly it was totally ineffective.

Prost's final appearence, Japan 2001...

Frantzen starts 15th, Enge 19th (the identically engine'd Saubers are 10th and 12th)

There he is! At the top right!

Enge gets 42 laps before the brakes fail (not sure how, Enge was lapping slower than Murray walking round the track and was 19th and last when he retired.

Frantzen crawls to 12th, 1 lap down and even being Alonso's Minardi.

All a far cry from appearence one as Prost...

Panis qualified 9th, debutant Shinji "I'm in CART now" Nakano started 16th.

Panis finished on the lead lap scoring points for 5th.
Shinji was 2 laps down but still 7th.

Looking at the pictures you can see what some of the problem was that the team was facing. The earlier cars had quite a lot of sponsorship advertising on them but the last cars had far fewer sponsors name on them.

Heidfeld with his engine cover missing. Silverstone 2000:

Possibly the last time the sun shone on the team, Alesi at Barcelona 2001:

But one of the problems with the team was they were often facing the wrong way - as here on Saturday morning at Silverstone 2001.

Photos by me :D

sorry to correct you pupik, but the win in Monaco back in 96 was achieved in a Ligier...

What will Prost do now? he'll stay at home counting the millions he lost?

That's what he said :)

Prost has personally lost very little, the partner system meant everyone had limited liability. This was one of the problems, Prost was not allowed to personally bail out the team.

Mmmmm, Gauloises!

"Dudley - Junior Member"... That's new! Pika!
Nice thread. I feel sorry for Alain. I had SO looked forward to 24 cars on the grid. Now Verstappen may get the boot from Arrows, that's too bad too.

Strange, me too. Maybe it's because I'm used to 26 cars on the grid. I always feel as if the announcers have forgotten a few names!

It's ironic that Prost, a driver with 4 titles, couldn't seem to manage an F1 team properly. The dream of a former driver operating an F1 team is well past it's shelf life.

Frentzen or Verstappen?....F1's class of 1994 will battle it out for the remaining seats. Sad to see either of them in this position, especially somebody who's won 3 GP's.

It's a shame fewer and fewer people remember the joy of 39 people turning up on a Friday morning and 9 of them going home that same day. :)

Those are some very nice graphics, Duds.

Frentzen and Verstappen had some great drives in 2001. Frentzen's 4th in qualifying at Spa and Verstappen's 7th (I think) finish at Malaysia in the wet.

Although the 4th was with a healthy dose of good timing and the 7th was one of the many "Run the arrows light and pretend it's quick" runs.

HHF will get it I suspect, I have to say he'd be my choice of the two.
