About The Quiz

In this competition you do not sumbit a shot you have to answer some questions. But if you do get all the questions right, during the right time-frame.

Then you get to ask for a photomode shot, which I will take then edit. But if your worried that you will not get all the questions right in the right time-frame.

Well you may still get 2nd and 3rd spot requests.

When does a new quiz happen?

At the moment, once an month. But there may be plans to allow 1st or 4th spot to help out with what questions are picked.

What is the right time frame to start putting my answers up?

Well this may be confusing to some, but there will be a set deadline. When you have to post you’re answers.

And that deadline is after the deadline, which means once the deadline has passed then you have to post your answer's up.

But the first 3 people to get all the questions right are the winners of the quiz.

What are the questions about ?

Anything related to cars, this includes video games related to cars as well.

Rules

You have only 3 life’s, but if you get one question wrong in your first try. Then you’re not allowed to edit that first try.

If you edit your first try, which was a failure. You will then lose your remaining life’s.

Right, i'm a little confused here. Where do we put our answers? You say "post", but surely other people would be able to see them. Also, can we only "post" up our answers between 3pm and 10pm on the 29th of June? Why?
I'm also thoroughly confused by your questions...

For a start, the Rover V8 (which i am assuming is an engine) surely started off as an engine, and the Ford GT40 reffers to a supercar made by ford, as far as i know... "What was the first true american supercar to people" who? My first true american supercar was the first american ford i saw in my life... "What time frame did the first sports car begin in?" I would assume the same time frame that anything begins in - seconds, then minutes, hours....

You have to post, but you also have to challenge the other people to get all the ones right before them. But anyone has to start posting there answers up once it’s 3PM GMT time on the 29th June 06.

While the no one can post there answers up once 10pm GMT on the 29th June 06 has passed Jon.

Well here is an example if you got all the questions right first, then your get first spot. And if someone got there questions right in 2nd fastest, then they get 2nd spot.

Same applies to 3rd, the 3rd fastest person to get all the questions right has 3rd spot.

If you get all the questions right 1st, then you get 1st spot. But don't post your answers up yet, because the quiz is not in the time-frame for the answers yet.

I think you'll find this is confusing to all. We've got a deadline that has to pass before we can post our answers, but how can we post our answers if its after the deadline?

Life's what? "You lose your remaining lives" What's the point of "life's" then? Surely having a system of "life's" means that you sould be able to edit a wrong question at the loss of a life?

Yes, good, they make more sense, but you've missed the big point that Jon and daan brung up, what's a Sports Car? What's a Super Car? You added quotes around them words, but they don't make much more sense. Define them. Supercars to people might mean cars with big engines and ridiculous power, some might think it's a car that's powerful, looks great and handles well, some may thing it's a mid-engined car, like the first was the Lamborghini Muria. A sports car to people might just be a small, nimble car, but to some it might mean a car like a Spyker C8. We need more info as the answer could be anything.

If this is a quiz then it has nothing to do with being a GT Photomode-fuelled competition, so it doesn't belong here. Besides, this doesn't make an ounce of sense, not to mention that filling out a quiz to get a photomode picture from someone seems tedious. You accept requests in your gallery, so just leave it at that. Not to mention if people want a shot of a car, they can easily go get it themselves. Plus, two of the questions really on opinion, not fact.

P.S. I don't much appreciate spam PM's about an updated gallery.

Its not a twist, its a totally different thing.

If I ran a OLR series in which you did not race but answered questions. Then offered a replay of my best lap as a prize it would make about as much sense.

Mine would not be an OLR series, and yours is not a Photomode competition.

but a Quiz is an competition.

I am more than aware of that, and to be blunt it doesn't make a lot of difference to this does it.

We're not arguing as to whether its a quiz or not. It is not a photomode competition. We also know you're the one taking the photos, but in a photomode competition, everyone gets to take photos.

We have whole threads discussing (arguing) the definitions of sportscars and supercars - they really aren't throwaway terms.


Now, as I see this, it's a general car knowledge quiz with a prize. It doesn't really matter what the prize is - a peanut, the Statue of Liberty, Erika Eleniak, some sand - the questions are general car knowledge ones (to which the answers are Buick V8, "depends on your definition", "depends on your definition" and "the vehicle's height in inches").

So it belongs in Cars in General - only we already have many, many car knowledge quizzes in it. There's only one remaining place...


Nice idea, but needs work. And knowledge > GIGO - my offer still stands.
