What do you think?

someone posted this in the GT6 group on FB without a source so i can't give you one.

"This is McLaren's future MP4-36J, i hope in the future it can battle with the Redbull X1"

So a talented design artist who needs to be hired by MclarenMercedes or PD.

I don't think so. At a glance, it looks like a nifty race car design. However, it appears to me to simply be about form and not about function. Adrian Newey, perhaps the best-known and successful Formula One engineer, designed the Red Bull X2010. Some random bloke did the other one there, and somehow I doubt it pulls from any F1 engineering knowledge base and it doesn't look to take into account any concept other than trying to be as slender as possible, which would serve to reduce drag but simply focusing on reducing drag has been an outdated concept in motorsports for many decades. Early F1 cars were torpedoes with very slender tires, but since then the tires got wider because they need to do more beyond just keeping the car off the ground, and the bodies became quite a bit more complex as they started using air flow rather than trying to avoid air.

The Red Bull is a beautiful design made to show what the limits of physics are, the "McLaren" is a load of different features thrown on a car by somebody to get more views on their website, looks soooo ugly...
