I wont visit this thread anymore... so much editing everywhere that even a PS1 game would look realistic... nonsense...

Good thing. At least one guy less moaning about how "bad" this thread is.

Rev and DarkR have done spot on realistic looking pictures 👍

Wow..... I would expect people to complain about the bad photo's but I never thought someone would complain about the good one's :boggled:

Look who is being a hypocrite, yup, that's right - me. :guilty:

But, sure, the OP states that editing should be kept at a minimum, and the post should clarify whether it has been edited - but it seems like it is a natural progression. Almost every single GT5-ographer have started with unedited work and then honed that more and more, but finally, they had to start to edit to be able to compete (in the competitions and such). And since when does editing make something look "less realistic"? It does in some cases, but mostly it doesn't.

It´s not about the photos up there in this page... its generally...
Sometimes less is more...

As FishyJuice said, 9/10 editing a picture makes it better. In a stock GT5 picture, the colours seem a bit washed away. With editing you add more contrast.

Fully agreed, the percentage of what has been edited hasn't increased that much recently - but then again, I could go back and look at what I have posted in this thread, and post the unedited versions - but I think that would make them look less realistic, actually. But that's just me, so I can't represent all other work.

Many times yes, but, most are due to overexposure in the first place.

However the single most destructive (and very often used) thing to do to a GT5 pic is add saturation.

What looks good on an average LCD most often looks horrible on a CRT, a better LCD, or print. Even worse on an OLED...

You're right, i often check my edited photos on a crt because i know it will show if it has too much saturation which has happend with a few pics that looked ok on my laptop

I've learned that I need to force close my color correction profiles before I send stuff out here or everyone will likely see "the grey tires" :-(

Just sharpened these in GIMP, otherwise unedited:
