To EVERYONE who has posted pics: I really enjoy coming to this thread and checking out everyone's work. A lot of these pictures are very "realistic" looking. Keep posting!

I also wanted to point out - every time I see a comment like this:

"And before you go all yayatayatay, i'm a real life photographer who followed an education in Animation movies and now is learning 3D... So colours and all the rest are practically my home turf... "

It puts this idea in my head that "real life photographers" are a bunch of arrogant tools. I am sure some helpful hints are welcomed, but you do realize, these guys are taking "fake" pictures of "fake" cars in a video game. Lol. I dont think your real life portfolio is going to impress anyone here...just saying...

wow, just wow. I can't fault it. Looks like something straight out of a Lexus commercial. :) except maybe for the helmet haha

Thanks! ^^ but a driverless car would look weird right? or worse the robotic face of the emotionless virtual Sebastian Loeb :3 hahahhaa

This is my last text only response to this thread (next time I have pictures too :) ).

You have to understand that we have gone through tough judgements and panels to get our statuses. There are basic rules to photography that date 100 years back and even more. (Mostly speaking of portrait photography which is my area. And portraits date back hundreds of years.)

There are rules for blacks and white. There are rules for position of lights. And so on.

So if we come out as elitist blame the guy who made the "rules". Of course rules can be bent. But then you don't do photography, you do art and that's a totally different thing.

And since you asked I can post two pictures from my portfolio. (that I used to get my "VAT")

Three "layers" that give the image 3 dimensional feel. Subject infront, three other runners out of focus and the background

Clear and strong diagonals that lead you to her face.

Of course a layman can get same kind of shots. 1 in every 50 shots he takes. My goal is to tell story with every shot I take. And my professional pride demands that from me. Just like a repairman wants to fix everything with the first go. Being a photographer is a job like the rest. With certain rules that have to applied to produce usable end product.
Repairman can't fix washingmachine with parts taken from TV. Unless he is MacGyver... :dopey:

Oh and I hope me and Shinzah are cool now. 👍

I really like this shot, and thanks for agreeing with me.

I dont mind all the debating and back and forth etc but I just fail to see how there can't be seperate threads for discussions/debates/philosphies whatever and a thread just for posting pics.

Maybe we can petition the mods or something.

Because quite frankly, it isn't needed. This thread is big enough to contain both constructive criticisms involving the pictures within, and the pictures themselves. Having a separate thread for strictly images and nothing else runs the risk of being nothing but a spam-happy thread. This thread already has more than double the replies of the "post your latest" thread, and I can't be the only person who finds that a bit odd.

One thing this thread doesn't have room for is the bloated heads and insulting comments. The elitist attitudes permeating it can find a home elsewhere. Just as how the duplicating issue brings up some strong arguments in the main GT5 section, this thread seems to do the same for Photomode, but we won't tolerate people telling others how they should play their game, and insulting them in the process. Telling someone they never should've taken an image, had it on their USB, etc etc, goes well past constructive criticizing and firmly in personal digs. It's unfortunate we have to keep an eye on a few members who seem intent on starting arguments in numerous threads, but the side-tracking and bickering ends here.

As for philosophies on art and photography in general, and discussions about that; they don't even need a thread here, as we have an area that they're probably better-suited to.

Awesome pics man. How did you get all of the other cars so crisp in this one? Everytime I try to do multiple car shots only my car is perfectly clear and all the others have a little blur.

Try increasing the F number to 45 in camera options.

Also, an 8000th shutter speed will quickly freeze everything and avoid any motion blur.
