Newer sport players won't remember the dominance of the megane in gr4 when it ruined gr4 for a few months... Im seeing a repeat with the trophy megane it is to capable on to many tracks... Of 15 cars 8 meganes again?!

No the trophy is not dominant, it’s a good car yes. It’s good at certain tracks like other cars. The only reason you are seeing it so much is because it’s new. The race at Yamigawa earlier i entered was dominated by FFs, all TTs and the other Mégane. You are always going to see more of these as they are a low risk car, good speed and are unlikely to spin.

I must admit, every personal course record i've set in Gr4 has been beaten by the Megane Trophy. Its not because i've learnt the courses better either. The Trophy is such a well balanced car, certainly no speed demon on the straights but it's what it does inbetween the straights that make the difference. I find it so puzzling how i hate the Megane RS Gr4 with every fibre of my body yet i absolutely adore the Trophy V6!

Same, hate the regular Mégane love the trophy as you can probably tell from my post. I just don’t think it’s OP though, just drives great. You still have to drive the wheels of it to get a good lap time. All the lap times I’ve seen being set with it are in the same region as other cars before this was in the game.

But I can guarantee it will get nerfed next update. Seems to be the way that, ah lots of people are using it better nerf it!

It’s too good for gr4. The Trophy doesn’t even belong in that catergory, its more suited to gr3 or even it’s very own catergory. It’s a full out race car from a one-make factory series, the only thing it has in common with the road car are the headlights.

PD have shot themselves in the foot by adding it to a category with cars that are much closer to their road car counterparts.

Kind of agree, but with its current BOP it’s handling suits GR4 perfectly IMO.

I’m personally glad it’s not in GRX though, as we would rarely get to use it. Whether it should be in GR4 or 3, as honestly it could probably sit in either, at least we get some proper use out of it. So many of the cars that get added just collect dust!

The normal megane was ridiculous at bathurst the other day tried lots of other vehicles but couldnt compete with them in a straight line. Gain on them through corner exit but they drive away to the extent you end up out of their slipstream anyway

It's so light that it handles like a GR3 car to me.

The new Megane can out brake almost every other Gr.4 car by one and a half car length going into every corner. That's where I'm finding it's weapon is. Not the speed.

Well so is the Audi TT Cup car. I don't think the new Megane would be fast enough for Gr.3.

It’s physical size suits group 4 I think

The Atenza and the TT both have awesome brakes too, it’s definitely strong in the braking department but unless you nail the exit most things will cruise past it on a straight

At least the TT Cup is still closer to the road car, the Megane Trophy is not even close.

Actually the tt cup is a LOT closer to factory spec than the trophy. Hell, it's essentially a stripped base tt with aero enhancements and moar boost. The megane trophy doesn't share layout, engine, chassis or much if anything for that matter with it's factory counterpart.
I do love the little trophy, don't get me wrong. But I agree that it's in the wrong class. The difference in speed, braking and cornering is immense and it makes it hard to race close with others IMO.

The V6 is no where even close to being suitable for Gr3 - where do people get these wacky ideas from?! As standard, the V6 is very close to 400 bhp and weighs approx 980kg. In comparison, GT3 cars are between 1200 and 1300kg and have between 500 and 600bhp. And please, no one even insult me with BoP - the weakest get out clause possible to dump a car in a category of your desire. It should have always gone to a one make series, like it was in real life. It fits in Gr4 for sure - doesn't make it right though.

Or PD should have brought back the Dream Car Garage. I think that'll be in GT7.5 though.

So far I've been doing much better in the Megane Trophy than my Porsche. Both run almost identical speeds down the straits. But man can I run deep into the braking zones compared to the Porsche and the Megane Trophy is very stable while doing so.
When I run against my Porsche as a ghost that's where I'm coming out on top in the Megane. Same entry point same line through the corner and same exit.
The Porsche just doesn't stand a chance in the braking zones against this thing.
But that me and my driving style so others might have a different experience with it.

FWD cack v RWD greatness

Not even close. As far as I can tell, PD created the Gr 4 to include (mostly) GT4 (like the real life Cayman GT4, M4 GT4, Aston GT4, etc) and TC class cars (Megane RS, Hyunday, Subaru WRX TC, etc). This actually does make sense as the 2 real-life classes are quite competitive one with the other - in the last VLN 2018, there were many battles between the two classes, and they were getting similar times (there was even an entertaining battle between the Seat Leon TC and the X-Bow GT4). The Megane Trophy, indeed, was initially created by Renault for their own one-make championship, however 2 years after its launch, Renault was already offering it (slightly modified for regulations, BoP stuff) for many GT4 championships. It was, for example, used extensively in the Belgian GT4 championship where it raced against a lot of other GT4 cars, many of whom are in the Gr4 category.

So, in short, in reality, the Megane Trophy is 100% homologated for Gt4, and as an extension competitive with TC cars, like the Megane RS TC (gr4).
