As a lot of you know, the infamous Sly Raccoon games have been mashed together, updated and re-released.
In the trilogy, there's: Sly Raccoon and The Thievius Raccoonus, Sly Raccoon 2: Band of Thieves and Sly Raccoon 3:Honor Amoung Thieves.
Sly Raccoon: #1 "Sly Raccoon and The Thievius Raccoonus"
Sly Cooper, as a child lived with his father, who carried on a long line of master thieves. They had a book where they stored all their secrets called, The Thievius Raccoonus. Over their history of stealing, they got in to some trouble 5 people, who ended up teaming up and calling themselves, The Fiendish Five. The Fiendish Five break into Sly's house. His dad unfortunately dies in this scene trying to protect Sly. The Fiendish Five then ransack Sly's house until they find The Thievius Raccoonus. They split up and go their separate ways, each taking pages of the book to use to their own power.
Sly is then put in an orphanage where he meets his new partners in crime; Bently and Murray. Bently, whose a turtle, funnily enough is incredibly smart. And Murray, whose a large pink hippo, is the mucle of the team. These three grow up together, starting off with small things, like stealing the cookies from the kitchen, to breaking out of the orphanage.
The game starts with you on a roof top in Paris, France, where you are attempting to break into a police HQ to steal the content of a vault, hidden in Carmelita Fox's office. Carmelita Fox is the only law enforcer that has chased Sly through out his career, and now Sly wants to steal everything she's got on him.
Carmelita and Sly have a small ammount of tension between them, but deep down she and Sly both have a secret crush on each other.
After stealing the doccuments from Carmelita Fox's office and leaving his trade mark 'Sly Raccoon' symbol in the vault, there is a breif chase where she trys to shoot sly with her Electro-pulse firing pistol. Which ends with Sly jumping in the back of their getaway van and Murray driving them to safety.
Sly starts looking through the doccuments that he has taken and finds out that the first member of The Fiendish Five is causing havoc in he Bermuda Triangle, using a rain machine to destory pirate ships trying to cross the deserted Sea land, and stealing their loot. He then finds out (After Aquiring all the nesscary keys) that he needs to get into the rain machine, which is where he finds Sir Raleigh, a crazy mechanist Frog, who challenges Sly to a battle to the death. Sly eventually wins, and he uncovers the first few pages of The Thievius Raccoonus. (Other pages can be obtained by finding all the clue bottles during each level and opening the vaults which can contain pages of the book). The pages he finds teach him the point spike, which leads to him now knowing how to jump from small pointed objects to others.
He also finds information on Muggshot. As a young man, Muggshot was born the runt of the litter, the neighborhood weakling, and was always picked on by larger dogs. In his loneliness, his only friends were found on the big screen, where he found solace only in mobster movies, and came to admire the tough, brutal criminals and how they took no guff from anyone. It was in one of these movies, entitled "The Dogfather" (an obvious parody to The Godfather), that Muggshot saw his first gangster, and he knew instantly that this was what he wanted to be. Inspired, he spent the rest of his childhood working out, strove to be like his movie idols and inspired by his dreams of great power and respect, until he ended up a massive, muscle bound, hard-hitting, street brawling, tough as nails gangster with a taste for guns and skin too hard to be wounded by any conventional weapon, ensuring that he'd never be picked on or pushed around ever again. Muggshot lives in Texas, and owns a large casino. He sends his Dog companions to try hunting you down as you try to steal the keys to his lair, which happens to be a giant fire-hydrant looking building.
Once you have all the keys you take the secret elevator, inside a large head of Muggshot (Much like the Luna Park face, except with an elevator) where he finds Muggshot. Muggshot is 7ft 3" tall, and has a very muscular build, infact his arms are so muscular, he uses them to walk, instead of his legs. And, being a typical wanna-be gangster, he isn't very smart. Sly battles it out in 3 levels against Muggshot, and eventually knocks him out, and escapes with some more pages of The Thievius Raccoonus (Also, you can obtain pages of the book by collecting the clue bottles in the various levels, and opening the vault) It is here that he learns the 'Rail walk'. Sly can now walk apon rails, fences and slide along mossy vines.
He also finds out about a freaky voodoo godess named Mz Ruby. Mz. Ruby was born into a family of mystics and was feared as a child by the other kids due to finding her a bit scary. Learning to summon the undead was the only way she had of gaining friends. Years of bitterness led an adult Mz. Ruby to apply her voodoo talents to commit crime on the world for fearing her as a child, breaking the laws of both man and nature. As Chief Mystic for the Fiendish Five, she accompanied her fellows to the Cooper family home, and departed with the manuscripts of Slytankhamen Cooper.
Fleeing into the jungles of Haiti, Mz. Ruby used her knowledge of voodoo to create armies of ghosts from bones and body parts, run from her crocodile Skull Temple. Despite the obstacles, Sly Cooper managed to reach her in the temple, and faced her in a battle of voodoo Simon Says. Mz. Ruby was beaten, and her voodoo activities earned her a life sentence behind bars. Sly departs now having the ability to turn invisible when he stands still. (Also, you can obtain pages of the book by collecting the clue bottles in the various levels, and opening the vault)
He also departs with information on the where-abouts of Panda King. A Pyromanic obsessed with fireworks. Born poor on the streets of China, Panda King was fascinated by the fireworks set off by rich noblemen every New Year. After spending a decade learning the art, Panda King attempted to offer his fireworks to the noblemen. However the Noblemen could not see past his shabby clothes and chased him away. Enraged, he used the tools of his art for crime, becoming the Fiendish Five's demolitions expert.
After acquiring the Thievius Raccoonus' section containing the blueprints of Otto Van Cooper, Panda King set up shop in the Kunlun Mountains of western China. Building a massive explosives factory, he disguised it as a large temple-like facility. In order to finance his crimes, the Panda King pressured local villages for avalanche protection. If they refused, he would set off a firework that would bring a megaton of snow down on them.
Panda King finished his brand new firework technique, Flame Fu, just in time to use it against Sly Cooper. Despite Panda King's impressive fighting style blending the martial arts of his homeland with his firework skills, he was unable to defeat Sly. Murray was able to use the blueprints they had aquired to add a mini-gun to the roof of Sly's van, and make a raming device on the front. (Also, you can obtain pages of the book by collecting the clue bottles in the various levels, and opening the vault) It was now that sly started peicing the peices together. He started noticing strange vulture like shadows in the back-ground of all of his ancestors pictures. Thats when he found out about Clockwerk.
Clockwerk was a Eureasian Eagle Owl who lived for thousands of years, keeping himself alive with a "steady diet of jealousy and hate" in order to achieve his desire to destroy the Cooper family, whom he rivaled and hunted down throughout the ages. After Sly's birth, Clockwerk founded the Fiendish Five and lead them in an attack on Conner Cooper and his family. Responsible for the murder of Sly's father and the theft of the Thievius Raccoonus, which contained all the family's thieving secrets, Clockwerk and the rest of the Fiendish Five returned to their own personal endeavors with their own pages of the Cooper's legacy.
When Sly gathered his own gang and began to target the members of the Fiendish Five, Clockwerk was a mysterious and widely unknown member who was referred to only as "The fifth member of the Fiendish Five" by Bentley, and never convened directly with his cohorts; instead providing hi-tech hardware (this included two hovercraft Sly comandeered and Bentley identified which were in the lairs of Mz Ruby and the Panda King and had a notably unique alloy). After Sly began reviewing what he gathered from the Thievius Raccoonus, he began to notice an odd string of a silhouetted bird in the background of pictures featuring his ancestors and connected them with reports on the appearance of Clockwerk. Curious about what this could mean, Sly was on his way to the Krack-Karov Volcano for his confrontation with the final member of the Fiendish Five.
Based in the volcano, Clockwerk had developed a giant Death Ray for unknown reasons and used it to attempt to destroy the Cooper Gang as they tried to enter his headquarters. Sly and company was able to pass through unharmed from the deadly weapon and continue through the facility. Devising another trap, Clockwerk had already captured Carmelita Fox and used her as bait to lure Sly into his gas chamber where he planned to finish him off with the toxic gas. It was at this time that Clockwerk revealed himself through a televised screen and mocked the Cooper clan for letting their emotions get the better of them. However Bentley hacked into Clockwerk's security system and managed to release them both from the gas chamber. The two made a truce and planned to take down Clockwerk with Sly using Carmelita's jetpack to assult him from the sky.
In their advance, they destroyed Clockwerk's Death Ray and Sly retrieved the jetpack, using it as finally confronted Clockwerk face to face. The two exchanged a brief banter and Sly learned of Clockwerk's past, having hated the Cooper family to such a degree that he replaced his entire body with machinery to live on and annhiliate every living Cooper in an attempt to eclipse their legendary thieving reputation. They engaged in battle in the air with Sly recieving support from Carmelita and eventually defeated him and Clockwerk plumetted in the molten lava of the volcano. He then rose up again, albeit damaged by the first fight, and desired to finish off the raccoon. Sly questioned how Clockwerk could have been ignorant that Conner Cooper had a son and wondered why the metallic monstrosity didn't kill him when he murdered his father. To this, Clockwerk revealed he left the young Cooper alive to prove a point: without the prized book which detailed all of the Cooper Clan's skills and history, that a member of the Cooper Line was nothing. Sly only replied that Clockwerk was wrong and that the Thievius Raccoonus didn't make a great Cooper but that a great Cooper made the Thievius Raccoonus. Clockwerk refused to acknowledge his chatter, determined to kill Sly like he had killed Conner Cooper and usurp the title as master thief soley for himself.
After engaging in another battle, Clockwerk again plummetted into the volcano and began activating his self-repair system to rejuvenate his heavily damaged form, refusing to be destroyed. While attempting this last effort of his to combat Cooper, Sly traversed over to the archaic bird and bashed his head in, finally put out of comission the last member of the Fiendish Five. The battered and destroyed parts floated in the lava and were left to rot when the gang left, but unbenknownst to them a single red eye of Clockwerk opened. The remains of the owel lived on.
End of Sly Raccoon and The Thievius Raccoonus.
I will add more later, but my hands are incredibly tired from typing all of the above.
