Welcome to the Sprint to the Daytona 500! This race takes place the eve before the Daytona 500 when all the hype of Speedweeks will be full steam ahead! There will be tough competition in this race, and the winner gets a goodie out of Ganon's goodie bag
Times and regulation
-Lobby will open on Saturday the 23rd of February at 5 PM eastern time, with the race starting at 5:30 PM (10:30 PM GMT)
-There will be no ballast required and the BHP limit is currently TBA.
-2011 NASCARs only, instead of signing up with a car, you will be assigned
one via random draw.
-Tires will be Racing Hards.
-Field limit of 16.
-Starting position will be determined via random draw.
-Both random draw results will be posted at 9 PM eastern time on Friday, an hour after sign-ups close.
-Double file starts/restarts.
-Boost is off.
-Grip is on realistic. (lol GT5 being realistic)
-Draft is on weak.
-Wear is on normal.
-Mics are on.
Race format
The race will be 55 laps which will be broken down as follows-
-1 pace lap.
-a first segment of 40 laps, with manual cautions (If you see 2 cars wrecking and/or me calling caution, race back to the line).
-Lap 42: All cars will slow down and form up into a single file line.
-Lap 43: Everybody will go down pit road for 4 fresh tires. If you happened to somehow go a lap down in the first segment, you are forced to be "waved around" (You get your lap back but cannot pit)
-Lap 44-45: Everyone will line up in a double file position (Odds on the inside, evens on the out) based off the finishing order of the 40 lap segment, but with a twist- Outside of the top 2, the entire field will be inverted (So whoever finished last in segment one will now start 3rd, and vice versa), except for any cars who were waved around, who will start at the tail end of the field.
-Final 10 laps: An all out shootout. No cautions period.
Penalties
-If you pit in the first segment of the race you must start behind any lap cars for the final segment.
-Mistakes happen, but don't Danica and try to wreck somebody or Jr. and pass somebody below the yellow line. If you do so on purpose I will DQ you from the official results via replay.
