Saw another TV spot for it last night. The TV spots just don't do it justice as they are too watered down due to censorship. 👎

From all the trailers I've seen I can't help but think of it as a movie length Family Guy skit. And this was before I realized MacFarlane wasn't just an actor in the movie, but the writer and director. And not Family Guy when it was good, either. I'm talking current Family Guy.

I think I'll have to pass.

Went and saw this last night. Was pretty good, although the ending was a bit soft. I think it's going to do well in theaters, as I arrived about ~40 minutes early to get a good seat and there was already a line down the hallway and around the corner.

I think early estimates put it at around $54 million dollars for it's opening weekend.

The humour is always either too dumbed down, is really immature or just generally vulgar. That's my reason.

Because he's not a very good writer. Most of "Family Guy" is made up of out-of-context cutaway gags. 90% of the show is filler.

Has it occurred to you that Family Guy is a comedy? Because, by the sounds of it, you're expecting a serious storyline. It's supposed to make you laugh, not say "wow, what a good story"

^Fair point. I don't really expect to be blown away by Family Guy's storyline and structure, I just watch it for the cheap laughs which I enjoy.

When John (the main human character) was a kid and Ted was brought to life, both John and Ted were kind kids, but as the years have gone by, Ted has become really rude, cruel, often wants to have 🤬, and says a lot of verbally brutal and aggressive language. Oh, and John is almost getting out of his mind because of Ted's vulgar behavior.

Anyways, I loved Ted. I thought it hilarious. I'm eagerly awaiting Ted 2, which is set to come on June 26th of next year. That will probably be delayed due to Mila Kunis being pregnant. I hope that they don't replace her. But I don't see that happening.
