AWESOME!! SMASHING!! STUPENDOUS!! SPLENDIFEROUS!!

unbelievable job by lotus and old grumpy 👍 you guys rule. this is the way it aught to be. now hopefully, this will ecourage more NTSC guys to post thier times because they will be on even footing with thier peers, and not looking up the ASM free mountaintop. thanks alot guys. i will spread the word that the competition just opened up some on our side of the pond. laters all.

P.S. don't forget the overalls as well ron -love and kisses, the other Mr. P. (Pushybastard):sly:

had an itch to run a little TT10 tonight and boy was it there. first run was a 4'46 after only a few more attempts i got a 4'41.987 and finally culminated with a 4'41.661

please also note this was done with a DS1 as my 7 day old new DS2 (my fifth) has gone tits up :'(

It's really quite simple. To be able to play an NTSC game on your PAL PS2 or vice versa, your PS2 needs to be chipped. This is a protection that's quite separate from DVD Region settings and a DVD Region free disk doesn't help unfortunately.

However, TVs are a lot easier. Most modern TVs can handle both PAL (50hz) and NTSC (60hz) signals and will switch without much of a problem. Older TVs however can be black and white or not work altogether.

I borrowed a chipped PS2 from my mate for a few days and the copy of GT3 is NTSC , if i play it on my better tv in the front room its in colour , but if i hook up the momo then the tv in the backroom broadcasts it in black and white a slight compatability issue , thats where i got my new TT8 , as far as i know u guys can do the same and get chipped and play the PAL version 👍

anyway new TT9 for me NTSC :P

1.55.095

Here's my NTSC TT9

Hey Mr.P, did you use this TT9 in your PAL results? :odd:

You better run all the TTs quickly before you have to give the PS2 back so you can be listed both under PAL and NTSC. :D Wouldn't be fair to list NTSC times in the PAL table. ;)

hey :irked: shhhhh....... :D  that was kel who done that i'll sort it out 👍 i'm looking now and it looks like i have an illegal .7 of a second in my totals :embarrassed: how embawassing :P

hey in fact Arco's are the same :odd: he has both rallies NTSC and the other 8 tests of his are PAL :mischievous: so i just leave it or i'd need to delete Arco's also and that would make me be the 1st place overall when i enter my 1.19.6 tt8 and 1.55.6 tt9 , if someone has Arco's Pal times for the 2 rally tests then i can go ahead and update ! but if not ....:P

Yes, if Arco's Rally Times are NTSC then they don't belong in the TT PAL section either. Have to be strict. I'm sure he has some PAL times for us somewhere. But by now we know there is a difference between the versions and that makes it important to distingiush the two clearly, otherwise it's a mess.

And if that makes you number 1, then ... Great job! :D

Ok i'll pm Arco and get his Pal TT8 and TT9 times then i'll update accordingly ;)
I cant steal a position that aint mine :embarrassed: .... Arco is the Number 1 driver and thats where he stays
I'll post when i get a reply from Da Man :) 👍

You can update his TT10 also:

1 big p Spanish/German Joypad 04.33.764 20 21 Sep 2003 PAL
2 Arco German Steering Wheel 04.34.399 19 20 Sep 2003 PAL

What about big p's time though eh? That's verified too.

Well Max wanted some more NTSC times in here, so I'll post mine. Some of them are embarrasing since I've never tried to improve them since I first met the minimal requirements to complete the game, but here they all are anyway: (they're all with DS2/auto)

1: 1'22.924
2: 1'45.470
3: 1'59.730
4: 1'24.525
5: 1'20.750
6: 1'16.572
7: 1'44.577
8: 1'22.857
9: 1'58.456
10: 4'50.281

If Big P wants to come in and post his Times !!! .... I'll definately update them ;) If not !... then Arco stays in 1st place ,

Arco and Flinx gave permission for there Times to be added :)

@Eggman I'll update you later mate along with Arco's new TT10 a bit busy at the moment 👍 welcome aboard

Thanks boss. :)

Question regarding the PAL vs NTSC... For the rally Time Trials, wouldn't PAL and NTSC be the same difficulty, since ASM and TCS isn't useable on rally tracks?

the answer is yes. the problem is; how do you keep the overall leaderboards segrigated if you pool the rally TT's?

the way to go is for the purpose of the overall standings, whichever version of the game you get the time on, that is the version your time is attached to.

also, if the logic is that they are identical, rally racers using either version should be just as able to duplicate thier time on thier home version.

I'm not trying to be short with you on this eggman, please believe it, i just don't want this to turn into some long laboring dispute that will be much ado about nothing. the rule is simply stated:

whichever game version you use to get a time, you will only be credited for the time in that version.

Thanks Max 👍
I think you read a bit too much into my question though. I realize the rationale behind keeping the times separate, but
I was trying to make sure there wasn't some underlying difference across platforms that I was missing.
Peace.

a *slight* improvement of my TT8: 1'21.010 ... Still a far cry from a 1'19.5 but it does show I've learnt something in the ARC. :D Will have to watch a replay to get into the 1'19s though!

EDIT: ah, the replay is readily available :D so I took a look and went back and took off some more: 1'20.448 ... It's easy to work on your time when you see you lose a full second in just one turn. Some more will come off no doubt. :P Thanks! ;)

I was expecting you'd take on this licence after that great Time Trial run. :D Great job! However, since this is about Time Trials it shouldn't be here - perhaps you can open a Licence Comparison Thread yourself. :P

TT9: 1'59.126 w/Logitech "Blue"-AT

@Edmar 👍 Great lap man !! .... even though it's a license test i still downloaded it for a nosey :D

had quite a few laps chasing your ghost also and managed a 1.09.632 as my best so far
Great bend 1 btw  ... I tried for 2 hours and still never matched your T1:P (22.502 my best up to now)
I never really make a habit of running the S-license but seeing as its @Midfield i couldn't resist , i'll get a few more laps against it soon .
Congrats on yet another Top spot mate 👍
