Am I the only one that thinks Typhon sounds like an STI?

Your in.

I haven't actually heard the Typhon yet. Do you have a sound clip?

Don't have one for the Typhon, but do have a clip w/sound of the Sagaris.

Any TVR fans should keep a close eye on the Pistonheads site, it's an online performance car mag that has a heavy bias towards TVR's and a good relationship withthe company, lots of firsts pop up here.

I could see TVR Typhoon being used, in the next Le Mans 24 hours and the british GT next year. Also TVR Typhoon one of the bargin supercars out there, also when I buy some of my first set of TVR products for a long time. I will get pictures of them top of my list is a TVR watch at £97.00 I think.

Let's hope your TVR watch doesn't break after three months, like the cars. Or maybe that'll be one of the authentic TVR features of the aformentioned timepiece.

Sorry - just ran across this thread and couldn't resist a cheap jibe. I am the Anti-Trevor (just ask live4speed)

I doubt that BMW POWER would agree with you there. He has a Cerbera, and says that it's been just as reliable as his Audi RS6 (And does more miles to the gallon)

So :P

Well, my friends Griffith 500 decided to spill engine coolant all over the cockpit at 110 mph. Not good. Insanely fast car though - almost worth the troubles.....almost!

How old was it? and what was the mileage?

No need to ask me, lol. TVR's have come a long way since the late 80's early 90's. They are now as reliable as any other supercar.

The Aero 8's suck though. If you watch Le Mans next weekend, you'll see teh TVR's and infact every other car in the GT category and the rest of teh feild for that matter, whoop the Aero 8's ass.
I really hope that the T400R's can do well in Le Mans this year :(. A top 6 in teh class would be good, or even better the top 3 would be amazing (but very unlikely).

I know it's been a while, but I've finally thought of a reason for the Aero 8's existance.

From a side on view, it's pretty.

It's certainly not pretty at the front. :yuck:

Although it's arse ends not too bad. 👍

No it's not, the old Speed 12 was never accurately rated and the Cerbera Speed 12 has always had the same power depending on if it had the restrictors fitted or not. This is the same car that was shown all thoes years ago, it's just had the bodywork replaced with parts from the GT race car.

It's pretty well known that it had no less than 799BHP, give or take 20 or so, but there was never any talk of it being near 900.

It wa never dyno'd fully so how can it's power be pretty well known. The figure 800Bhp was given to the car because thats the point where it broke the input shaft on the Dyno, it can't be tested on a rolling road because it climbs out. The owner of the car is looking into doing an engine dyno again and hopefully the shaft won't break again. The shaft in the original engine dyno could take upto 1000lb/ft of torque, and the TVR broke it. the figures you'll see rating the car at 960Bhp+ are what the engine will produce with the restrictors removed, however for safety and reliability the restrictors have been left in. The current figures are estimates only, until it gets dyno'd again, 880Bhp is an estimate, 800Bhp was the highest reading taken from the car, and still is, but it wasn't at peak power when that figure was taken.

Count me in your club also.

Auto Express magazine gave the Sagaris 3/5. This isn't a fully performance orientated magazine like evo though. Auto Express were on about how hard the car to drive. Jarring ride, low ride height to hit speedbumps, no ABS for braking and is overall hard to get used.

If you want a sports car you want a sports car. You live with it and get used to it. Actualy, you have to get used to any car, you just have to get used to the Sagaris a bit longer than others.

The Sagaris goes beyond being just a sports car, it's closer to a race car for the road. The same pricipels apply though, no-one will buy a Sagaris totake the kids to school in and then do the shopping, you'll buy one to take to track days. ?If you want it to drive on the roads they'd but a T350C/T.

Uh, I wrote something about the Speed 12 dyno, but I reread your post L4S... I'll just put something here about how nice looking I think the new TVR's are, except that cut-up one.

Auto Express at the end of the day. just don't know what they're on about. The thing about a jarring ride, low ride height and no ABS is probably just they're way of saying - "We don't like it because it's not a Porsche 911 or Ferrari 360."

And @ Live4speed - well, It just goes to show the power of the Speed 12 if it can break the Dyno. :D

Brilliant video! I want one NOW!

Lots of peoples' heads turned to see the car. They were probably thinking, "What the **** was that!"

The Sagaris is propelled by the same 4 litre 400 bhp engine as the Tuscan S. It is docile in town where it can burble along at low speeds in high gears. When you press your right foot into the carpet you are pushed authoritatively back into the seat, as the engine howls its way to a redline close to 8000 rpm. Statistics can be dramatic: 0-60 mph in 3.7 seconds.

From the website.
