I want to build a coustom PC that is mainly for gaming and other things such as word and internet. I thought of buying an Alienware, or maybe a Falcon. I need help on what graphic cards, sound, etc. Thanks! :D

Depends how much you're willing to spend..
If you want to go all out get a Nvidia Geforce 4 Ti4600 and the Soundblaster Audigy thats $300, and Processor i would go an AMD 2100+, and a Epox, Gigabyte or Asus motherboard, hard drive(s) if you wanted to go crazy get 2 120 Gig hds, but thats crazy :)

Anything else you need, just ask

firslty no audigy costs $300. the most expensive one is the extigy and i think its a complete waste of money. if you already have a SB Live! with live drive, there is no need to waste money on a Audigy with a "Audigy drive" as the only different is the logo and it sports firewire ports. just go with Audigy Gamer or MP3 or the other one. they are all the same, and only differ in software. as for a graphics card, i would suggest that you wait a bit. the parhelia has an awesome feature set and promises great performance. same goes for the P10, not to mention the next nvidia and ati parts will be out in a short while. as for buying a PC from falcon or alienware, i wouldn't. if you have some basic skillz you can put a pc together yourself and save a whole lot. as for huge hd's, remember the bigger they are the longer it takes to defrag etc...pain in the ass. CPU's, AMD is great for the buck, offering awesome performance per the $. Intel on the other hand has supperior overclocking abilities. for instance, most P4 1.6A (northwood 512k) can run stable at 2.4GHz. and at ~$130 that beats out any AMD processor price and performance wise (on a general scale...all FPU intensive tasks and the AMD kicks butt). if you have time, i'd reccomend you do plenty of reading and research, otherwise just ask (like you did) and take advice you feel comfortable with. good luck!

oh yea, and don't forget that intel cpu's run cooler. so that means a smaller quiter fan, giving you cooler case temp and less noise. but if that doesn't bother you, then it's all about the $$.

If you can wait, hold of until late summer. There is a wealth of new technology coming out that is going to significantly up the ante as to what makes a "killer PC"
The speed of DDR ram, and Rumbus are going up, the next generation of videocards (starting with the next Nvidia Gforce in August) is going to have DirectX9 features supported (none currently do)
Rummage around on a few tech sites and look to whats coming, then you base your decision on when you think the best time to upgrade is. And if your not too keen on heavy reading, go to www.gamespot.com and look at the PC hardware section. (Not the best, but ok)
