Unnecessary to create a thread only because of this, I know, but didn't know where else to post it.

Since KY has mentioned the cars are new PS3 models, compressed to the PSP game, I was simply wondering if someone could post a few pictures of the Volvo 240, so I can see if it's just as out of shape as it was in GT4?

Thanks in advice.

It still has the same wrong stats, so I wouldn't get any hopes up.

It's reasonably acurate from what I remember of my Grandfathers 240 Estate - He had it in beige, so I purchased the car in that colour.

I took a picture with a picture of a real one in the background. May put it up later, but if the deformation was that the rear was a bit too long and a bit to high, then yeah, that's still in there. It's stats also seem to give it too much weight.

The general body dimensions are pretty much spot on but the front grille looks too wide, the headlights too narrow and the entire thing is perhaps just a tad too sharp around the edges... the 240 is rounder than one might think. On top of that the Virgo wheels are wrong with a capital W - the centre section should be recessed, not bulged outside the lip - and it still has the odd white stripes (chrome trim?) around the car whereas the GLT should only have black trim. Just the GT4 model in a new game.

A couple of pictures of the real thing:

And the stats are indeed so wrong that it isn't even funny. Slightly too much power (looks like a B23E or B230FX engine by the stats, neither of which was in production in '88... should be B230F with 116 bhp) and more than slightly too much weight, the papers of mine say 1340 kg curb weight.

That cant be possable. PD said they used GT5 assests to do GTPSP, for that to have the same errors would mean they used GT4. You must all be mistaken.

As a swede I see these cars every day, and the errors I found on the GT4 model were the following.

  • Suspension is waaaaaaay too soft. No Volvo (or any other car for that matter) has had that soft suspension, and the fact it's a GLT means it should have sportier/harder suspension than the regular GL.
  • The grill is too wide as Greycap said.
  • The windshield is way out of shape.
  • The trim should be all black like Greycap said as well.
  • The rims are called "Virgo" and shipped with the Turbo models only, which were made between '81 - '85, while the car in GT4 is a '88 GLT.

EDIT: It bugs me, because I've never seen a proper modelled 240 in a game. Even Simbin (which is a swedish developer) failed big time modelling the 240 Turbo Group-A!

Wrong. Although commonly known as the Turbo wheel the Virgo was in fact the wheel for the original GT and GLT models but also later adopted for the Turbo, and fitted to every model year of the GLT including '88. I almost bought a '91 GLT and it had them from the factory.
