Norman has had nearly half of its yearly average rainfall in the last two weeks with 16.14 inches of rain. My backyard looked like a pond earlier today:

Please ignore the jumps in the fence panels. Google pieced together three or four pictures to make the panoramic.
You mustn't forget Dallas/Fort Worth. 2 tornadoes were reported yesterday in my area as well as some reports of river flooding in Mansfield, TX.Weather in Texas has been lovely the past few days. Seems as if Austin and downtown/SW Houston have been hit the hardest.
Yes, I know Dallas had been hit pretty hard as well. I saw a photo @McLaren posted ( think it was him, anyway) of the river that was nearly over-flooded. Glad there wasn't any tornadoes down here. Those are scary as **** and I really hope I never experience one in my life. You mustn't forget Dallas/Fort Worth. 2 tornadoes were reported yesterday in my area as well as some reports of river flooding in Mansfield, TX.
No kidding.Austin & Houston have taken the biggest hit considering Austin is literally flooded. We've flooded in a few places, for the most of Dallas, we're okay as long as the levees on the Trinity don't overflow. Tornadoes have been reported, but that's mainly up near the border. They're more of an issue for Oklahoma.

There was one reported near Grandbury(Could be Stephenville) yesterday around 2:30pm local time, and there was one reported that produced debris (I can't remember if it was the same tornado). I was at the hospital through the worst of it for a simple outpatient procedure.Austin & Houston have taken the biggest hit considering Austin is literally flooded. I take that back, then. Up north & west of the metroplex seem to be more at risk. Very rare for tornadoes to come east of the metroplex. There was one reported near Grandbury(Could be Stephenville) yesterday around 2:30pm local time, and there was one reported that produced debris (I can't remember if it was the same tornado). EDIT: Tornado Warning issued in Palo Pinto and Erath Counties until 7:30pm local time. Tornado was spotted forming near the city of Gordon, 21 miles southeast of Mineral Wells. The tornado is on track to the southeast.
A Tornado Watch is in effect in all counties west of Fort Worth until 10pm local time. Any chance of rain that could impact the DFW area would occur between 7pm and 10pm local time, but the greatest threat remains west of Fort Worth.
That's not very calming then, seeing as there's been more than a few pictures of different chaser vehicles spotted in Denton, just north of DFW.tvnweather.com/live is good for tracking tornadic storms. If there's a bunch of chasers on there in your area, odds are they have a good reason to be.
I use it mainly because I like to watch along and see tornados, but it's a good tool for those in that area to become aware of what's going on sooner than the news can get it to you. Often times the news is getting their information from these chasers. The map also shows areas that are tornado warned as it happens. Tornado chasing is like treasure hunting. The majority of their job is looking and hoping followed by boredom and disappointment. That's not very calming then, seeing as there's been more than a few pictures of different chaser vehicles spotted in Denton, just north of DFW.![]()
