Had a lot of laughs doing this. Even spun out twice.

There is a tune that can make through this race without engine swapping?
I have won this race with approximately 100 different cars, no engine swap, no wall riding, just sport hard tires and cars upgraded (or downgraded) to 600pp.

It is particularly easy with 4WD cars like the Lamborghinis, GTRs, Impreza WRC...

Ran on Sport Mediums then to Softs. Fuel Map on 4.

Managed to improve the time. Swapped the turbo to a high-rpm for smoother power delivery compared to the ultra-high rpm one.

Fuel Map now on 3, then pit at laps 5 and 10, with the latter switching to Softs with extra added fuel.

Then switch to FM1 at the final lap.

New toys for tokyo grind in first glance:
  • Ford escort: very stable and easy to control
  • Porsche 911 (992): absolute beast
  • Mercedes w196: a 300km/h "no pit" missile
  • Suzuki jimny k24: not very stable on the brakes, but very fast.
I put med turbo and sports medium on thr merc. Think needed to reduce ecu a bit too.

Won comfortably. Fuel 1. No pit stops.

Should add. This was on Easy.

I'm curious, has this race ever been datamined to see if the opponents are actually under 600PP? Cause it really doesn't feel like it at times. 😅

Extremely late, but here's my GT-R run:

W196 - pretty stable and fast. Last 3 laps were kinda tense with the RX7 right behind

No pit needed. Tires in the last lap:

@AXL_EXE I don't think they're necessarily above 600pp (maybe the RX7). I think it's because especifically for this event (and Sardegna) there's some minor form of rubberbanding to make them more competitive.

Just wondering since I'm trying to find a comfortable setup where I can try to get the CRB, but I refuse to wallride. Right now I just find this race very unfun...

Patience is key. Try something that is fast on the main straight so you can safely overtake everyone there.
Ford GT 06', Mclaren SRL, AMG SLS, Viper 13' and the GT-R I posted above are all stock and safe choices. Just keep some distance from the car in front and you eventually pass everyone on the straight because those cars are faster than the AI.

Sports hard tires I assume?

Try detuning the Lamborghinis, they are all very stable thanks to the 4WD, and very fast down the straight. You may have to short shift to get to end of lap 6 before pitting. Impreza WRC is a great choice too, slower in straight line, but no fuel issue and super grippy.

The key to get the CRB is never touching any opponent or cones at the last hairpin.
