With most racing series concluded, this is an opportunity to look back on 2014 from various perspectives. It has been somewhat of a tradition for me to offer a thread looking back on the year in motorsports. Here is that thread. This is a thread where I hope us GTPlanet folks can look back on the year in racing.

What is up for discussion here? A number of things. Races and other motorsports events that have concluded are up for discussion. Even series still going on (such as the Formula E Championship) are up for mention only as long as COMPLETED events are mentioned. You don't necessarily have to respond to each point listed below. However, I will give you an idea of what is fair game to discuss for this topic:

* best of the year: drivers, teams, manufacturers, constructors, races, racing series, moments, etc.
* worst of the year: drivers, teams, manufacturers, constructors, races, racing series, moments, etc.
* indifferent moments of the year
* memorable moment(s) or most impactful moment(s) of the year (doesn't necessarily mean most favorite moments)
* your thoughts on 2014 in racing
* your outlook on next year's racing

Let's look back on 2014. I have nothing to share for this initial post. Instead, I'll leave it up to you to begin the look back on 2014 in motorsports. So let's look back at 2014 in motorsports!

I watched a total of 15 laps throughout the F1 season, the noise repelled me instantly, though I'm glad Lewis won it, otherwise the F1 cars are so quite that you would hear him moaning about losing it to double points for the entirety of the 2015 season, who knows 2015 he might drive well enough to deserve it,

NASCAR, not a fan of the chase system and never really have been, specially when drivers like Keselowski and Gordon get kicked out for what is just general racing incidents, I'm not a fan of cars rolling over and drivers being put in danger but I do enjoy a good fight of wheel and door banging, and with the chase setup it kind of takes away from that aspect, still good to crown a new champion,

The Blancpain endurance series, I'm still not sure who actually won it, Bentley turned up and set the circuits on fire, some of the best looking cars on earth in a race trim, Spa 24 was a bit of a disaster in the first 6 hours, and got a point where 2 drivers where air lifted from the circuit, that seemed to calm things down,

Blanpain sprint series, again! Just like the endurance series some brilliant racing, the main race in Baku was on of the best races ive seen all year, Rangingger in the Porshe drove an absolute blinder and those Corvettes came from the back! Great season of racing all round,

V8 supercars, been a reasonably solid season, some fantastic racing, though Bathurst kinda felt somewhat scripted to a degree, the new surface seems like it has been manipulated to provide incidents, certainly some weird crashes in all categories across the top and turn 2 specifically, I'll let you read into that what you will,

WEC, Porshe seemed to gate crash the party, and didn't really provide results apart from qualifying upsets, but where was Audi? They seemed to be way off the pace everywhere, Rebellion seeming to fill a pointless category with no competition, the P2 racing was fantastic all year as were the GTE'

TUSC, unsure if a disaster or a success, the GTD and GTLM categories had fantastic racing all year, sadly Dodge is leaving yet another category but hopefully we get a customer fielding the SRT cars for at least 1 more season,
What a bungle the P2/ DP merger was, lost so many P2 teams leaving after all the BoP problems, worst of all the world lost Pickett Racing, the most successful sports car team in north America? That being true or not still a shame to lose such a great team to general political nonsense,
