Welcome to TheLuigi755's 2014 Indycar Series!
High stakes, high power, high speed: Now in GT6!

What's all the fuss about?
The Indycar Series is the pinnacle of open wheel formula racing in America. Often copied, never matched: This series is unique in that the cars are put up against both Nascar-style speedways and F1-style road courses.
Taking its popularity into account, now you have the chance to experience it for yourself!

But there's no Indycars in GT6, what will the teams be driving?
The car used in the series will be the Lotus 97T, introduced as part of update 1.08. Here's the stuff that you need to know about it:

To race in the series, you need to possess this monster machine first. You can win it by getting silver in the time trials in Chapter 3 of the Ayrton Senna Tribute, or you can purchase it in the "Senna" dealership for 3,000,000 credits. If you need to do credit grinding, you can do that if you wish.

You are permitted to use any compound of racing tyres as you please, but you will have to change compounds during the race. That will be explained later.

Where is the series racing?
I will provide details on the race calendar as soon as they become available.

How do I register?
To register for the series, place a message on this thread, providing the following details:

  • Rear wing (stock, type A/B/C)

Rules and regulations

Here's the important stuff. The rules and regulations help to keep this racing series from falling apart.

Registration
To register for the Indycar Series, please provide the following:

Entrant information:
GTPlanet username
The username that you use on the GTPlanet forums.

PlayStation Network ID
The name that you use when playing GT6 online via PSN.

Team information:

Team name

The name that your Indycar Series team will use throughout the run of this series.

Aero kit
The aerodynamic kit that you have applied to your car in GT Auto.

Rear wing
The rear wing that you have applied to your car in GT Auto.

Other parts
Any other parts that you have applied to your car in GT Auto.

If any information that you have submitted is incomplete, your entry will not be registered.

Race rules

These rules must be followed throughout the race. Failure to comply may result in penalties or disqualification.

Qualifying
Qualifying is a means of setting lap times to obtain a position on the grid for the race.
This session will be 5-7 minutes in length, depending on the track.
Qualifying is a "parc ferme" session: Once qualifying starts, you are not allowed to make any mechanical alterations to the car. If you leave the track to modify settings during qualifying, your lap times will be rendered void and you will be disqualified from the race.
If you cut the track during qualifying, a penalty may be imposed on the driver deemed responsible.

Race
The race length may vary depending on race.
Corner cutting will NOT be tolerated. Penalties will be imposed on those caught doing so.
"Dirty" racers (ramming others off the track, drifting, driving in the wrong direction) will be disqualified.

Race control is managed by @Scaniabebe (TBC). If he finds racers breaking rules, they may impose drive-through penalties on those responsible.

The cars
The only car permitted is the LOTUS 97T '85. Other cars will be rejected.
Power limiters must be used to limit engine power to 650 bhp (regardless of wherever or not you have performed an oil change). A 150kg ballast must be added (this can be repositioned to alter handling characteristics if you wish).
You can change aero parts in GT Auto, but this MUST be noted in your driver registration.

We're just wasting time now. Who's interested?

Dude with all due respect your driving was horrific in a 300 bhp touring car now you wanna jump to this:scared: Like i say do wish you luck.

I predict a heated argument. Sign me up anyway, as this is an "Indycar" series that I have not yet been kicked out of.
