FIA GT (I do not think simbin has the license to the whole class just to use some of the cars), F1 (Codemasters has the license), WTCC (simbin has the license), and DTM (???). You could add in stuff like the 24hrs of Nurburgring but the car roster for that changes every year and a lot of the cars a similar to the FIA GT cars. There is Grand Am but honestly ALMS is what most people watch. So to recap we have: WRC, Nascar, JGTC, Drifting in some form(maybe D1GP) and LMS/ALMS (do not know which cars we will get but it should be most of them like GT4). The Race games can keep WTCC(others will disagree), DTM is good but there aren't many different types of cars (old DTM is better), LMS and FIA GT is where it is at for me.

I dont know, about most people, but im not interested in complete championship series, Gran Turismo has always been with productions cars and tuning them, I really hope they retain this and make sure its the most important thing, ok a few cars from each championship to chose from but, I DONT want GT5 to turn into a GRID or TOCA game, this is why i buy GT, for the production and tuning.

Previous Gran Turismo's have had DTM cars in such as the Merc CLK, Opel Astra and Calibra etc so in essence they already have that licence.

As for F1 they have their own PD F1 cars and Ferrari's Licence.

To paskowitz: You forgot the IRL IndyCar Series and A1GP!

There's also MotoGP, World Superbike, and AMA American Superbike, but PD will probably save those for the next Tourist Trophy.

Erm - this guy would see it slightly different paskowitz.

Even if its only one example of the Ford and Holden, it'd be nice. Oh and it'd be nice if they included HSV this time too.

Only if they did it properly!

Remember that AU supercar from GT4 or 3  pathetic

On the Contrary - it was one of the better touring cars to drive (IMHO) especially for longer races and tracks like the Nurburgring. It was not as stiffly sprung as most of the others and a bit more forgiving to drive.

PD can always fall back on BTCC or Grand-AM they need small touring cars.

Same here, I desperately want V8 Supercars to be in GT5. But I believe I may be disappointed.:indiff::nervous:

Holden, V8 Supercars and Ford AU was in GT4 so I wouldn't worry too much

I'd like to see a good range of GT2 and GT3 cars... imagine a grid full of Aston DBRS9, Porsche 911 GT3, Lambo, Morgan Aeromax, Ford GT, 430, Viper, Vette, R8, Ascari etc... would be excellent.

Yeeeya!!!

Id watch supercars over F1 anyday!

 to those 3.

Well yeah, V8 SC can be belted around quite a bit, they're quite softly sprung in comparison to other touring cars, but still, an AU? The least sucessful car in V8 SC history? Come on, at least give us now a BF or FG, and a VE Holden supercar.

I don't understand this. The whole point of GT1 was to make it up to that GT World Cup and race with JGTC or Endurance Cars (though you could enter a race modified street car).

GT2 had a bunch of race car endurances, and quite a few race car series made up the higher level races. Same for GT3 and GT4.

Race Cars are just as much a part of GT as street cars. I really hope they simulate each included race series as close as possible.

I am not privy to racing outside of Europe and America so... that is probably why I left out V8 SC. When I said forms of racing I did not mean fully licensed, just in the game. Also I do not count bikes as they have never been in GT (yes I know about TT). GT4 had, like others have said, one or two V8 SC's, DTM and I think some FIA GT cars. So there is a good chance GT5 will include all of those (maybe not the whole series but at least some cars).

Honestly though the 2009 season of the FIA GT looks great. Ford GT, GTR, Vette, Maserati MC12, Saleen S7r in GT1 and Porsche 911 GT3 RSR, Ferrari F430, AMV8 Vantage in GT2, Porsche GT3 RS, Gallardo GT3, Alpina M6, Viper GTSR, Audi R8 LMS, Ford GT, Ascari KZR, Aston Martin DBR9, Vette in GT3.

That is probably the biggest list of manufacturers racing each other I have ever seen. We already have some of those, like the Ford GT GT3 car which is just like the Ford GTLM in GT5p. The Corvette tuned is also very similar to the Corvette GT3 car.

I love race cars and road cars but to be honest spend most of my time in the racers. There is plenty of room for both so bring it on!

The BTCC cars would be great as well, just like in GT2!

I thought the Ford supercar in GT5 was a dream to drive round the Ring, I just want to be able to race both Ford and Holden supercars around Bathhurst, wonder if there is any chance of the Australian PS store gettign the track as DLC that would sell like hot cakes!

The thing I want to see though is a F1 series even if not the official organisation. You could easily have a 8 to 10 car 5 track series feauturing Suzuka, Monte Carlo, Silverstone, Nurburgring F1 track and Spa for example. They already have the Ferrari F1 cars liscenced, would be good to see Braun, McLaren and Red Bull or Renault.

would like to point out that during the intro prerace stuff for the first FIA GT race at silverstone(motors tv) , Kazunori Yamauchi appears taking photos of the cars track side for a second or two. i would love to see these cars in GT5, especially the Nissan GTR GT1 car and........the..............997 GT3 RSR.
ohh well, one can dream.

I don't want GT5 to turn into those either.

I think it should be fairly obvious that PD doesn't that to happen either, it only requires a brief analysis of the cars in GT5P (almost road cars exclusively) to see than road cars are and will always be a large part of Gran Turismo.

i love road cars, I love races cars, the more of both the better. That's why I like this move with WRC and NASCAR.

I'd kill for Bathurst and phillip island, but especially Bathurst. The bad thing about Bathurst is it can be hard to pass through the mountain, but it really pushes you hard to get good lap times.

I'm not terribly fussy about big car lists. Give me a handful of slow street cars, a handful of fast ones, a good assortment of race cars and maybe throw in a few open wheelers and I'm a happy man. Dont need to throw 1000 cars at me, just a few from each variety is good.

re: Ferrari and Polyphony F1 cars

They've also got quite a good relationship with Renault Sport, they showed a visit to their factory in an earlier trailer/teaser movie (can't remember which maybe GT5P ending movie?)

Yeah i also want V8 Supercars in it. It's had one V8 Supercar in it (the AU Falcon in GT3 and GT4) but that was IMO poor. Come on KY, bring some V8 Supercar Power to our lounge rooms!!!!

+1 All though you'll only be able to run tuned production cars with other tuned production cars. Which should have been in GT5P.

I loved that car, and what do you mean poor that car moved on rails.

There are a few more pretty bug forms of racing left, still its great to see PD are incorporating more with every game.
