I guess this game is over. I have all but the carting stars. 46 hours to beat the game. I could spend another 46 trying to get the cart races beat but what is the point? What is funny to me is they want to sell you game credit for real money. And buy what? A 20 million credit car? And race where? This game is the slickest looking racing game ever but its lack of any real content makes it a c+ in my book.

Dude... there's 1200 cars and 30- something tracks with more to come. Get a favorite car and go to a favorite track. This isn't a game where you go "Oh I'm not even done yet, but I'm basically done. Nothing else to do. Bad game." This is a game where you do things slowly and enjoy it... like you would with an actual car.

Career mode is not the only thing to do. Online? Try your best on a TT? Take a few pictures? The only thing I do is race online, and the only reason I did A-Spec was to get my online license. Originally my plan was to do zero races in career mode, and just earn money by seasonals, and then go race online.

They could have provided more content. I'm at 99% and I'm actually looking forward to the next phase - trying out all premium cars, driving strictly with cockpit view, and online racing.

To me GT is not a game that you complete but a game that you enjoy driving, with 1,200 cars and 30 tracks there should always be a car and track combo that you will not have tried.

However, I think that this is the way of the modern world. I started gaming with a ZX Spectrum and most games just could not be completed unless you were very, very good. There was no option to save your progress on a lot of games, so the serious gamers may complete the game but with maximum effort where as the rest of us would just enjoy the game.

Now it seems that people just want to speed through games until completion and I feel that some of the enjoyment of the game has been lost because of this. This may be due to the fact that most games are incredibly easy these days. There is no penalty for being killed in games like CoD or GTA5 etc, as you just sporn again and carry on. In the old days you were given usually 3 lives and had to your best.

In the 80's very few people had completed any game in their collection but these days if you cast you eyes towards your game collection I bet most if not all games have been completed.

But to me GT is just about pure enjoyment of driving, just because you have already won an event with gold doesn't mean you cannot run it again with a different car. You may find a car and track combo that you really enjoy, and that is the point, to enjoy the driving.

I've ran hundreds of laps at Nurburgring simply as I love the track, and when I do this I always find new lines through some of the corners. The same with Brands Hatch so to me the game can never actually be completed.

You can't say you completed the game unless you have 100% completion and have a platinum trophy. As for lack of content; it's coming. Just like GT5 was made better over time, same will apply to GT6. If you're bored, take a car to the Ring and learn it like the back of your hand...

Attaining 100% or getting the platinum trophy isn't the end of the game. They're just milestones. I thought the point was to drive various cars you are never likely to drive around tracks you are never likely to visit. Not to complete the game. As long as there are cars and circuits to drive them on there is enough content. Anything else is a bonus.

You ask what the point would be to beat the cart races..so I ask you, what was the point of beating any of the races?? Hell, what's the point of this thread? Wtf are any of us doing here?!?! Aaaaahhhh I'm going insane!!! Lol

Thanks for all the great replies. I guess it is more that there was so much to do in gt5. I will try some of your suggestions. I haven't tried the online. Maybe that would help.

I agree with the fact that there was more to do in GT5, but remember; GT5 has received many updates since launch, just give it some time and more content will come. The track editor and other promised content will give you more things to accomplish...

Interesting discussion.

I have no idea what "percent complete" I have achieved. Such a thing is not even close to being on my personal goal list.

Different strokes for different folks! Enjoy!!

I just enjoy it as my personal Nurburgring simulator.
Me too. Have done since 4. Probably more so with 4 actually. Me and my friends referred to the game as Nurburgring since all we'd do was try to beat each others lap times on it. Rarely did owt else once we'd finished the career races but it was plenty.

👍

I've been nothing else but the Nurburgring 24 mins race for the last few weeks. Just grab any car from the dealership, tune it a bit (if it needs it) and get racing. Happy Days :)!!

Some you win (yeah!) and some you lose (2CV piece of 🤬:ouch:). But I don't care really, I just enjoy it whatever car I'm in. I think I've ran about 50+ 24 Min races now all with varying results and enjoyed every minute of it.

lol:lol:.

It actually came 13th in front of a Diablo, Ford Falcon & Corvette Z06 (C2) Race Car '63.
One of the best and closest victories I've had was in the Fiat 500F '65 (The premium one). The white McLaren was close behind in second by less than 2 seconds.

IMO The Nurburgring 24 Min race is the best and most fun race in GT6 with the greatest replayability (if that's a word:odd:). You have a better than great chance to win it in anything that you can throw on the track.

Sure did.

And also..........
Mini Cooper '98 (the old standard one),
Toyota bB
Ford KA
Honda Insight '99
Peugeot 106
Vauxhal Tigre
Fiat Panda
Mini Marcos

To name but a few.

I got the idea a couple of weeks back when I saw someone had poster a victory in an Honda Fit.
You just know that some of us are just mad enough to go give it a try as well...

Is that because of fewer pit-stops?

Inspired by the mighty dixonbaps, I did the 24 min Nurb last night, with a much tuned VW T1. It droves brilliantly most of the time and it was a fun ride alright. But as you can expect, I finished last, by a very big gap (several minutes).

TBH, I don't enjoy the race that much. The visibility is too poor, night & day. It's almost tunnel-vision at night with effective area of maybe 20-30% of the screen, and it's not much better in the day time which is mostly foggy and rainy. Just like IRL, I get tired quickly in such situation and can't keep full pace, or I make mistakes more easily. The only moment I like is around the dawn. I almost feel the slightly chilly fresh air. Pity it's too brief. :(

I guess it's because the lacking of visual information forces me to use more 'processing power' of my brain. And that would better be used on the pleasure of driving. It's not up to the point of Claustrophobia, but you get the idea.

Or, maybe I'm not familiar enough to it -- to comprehend the whole track as my own house so I can navigate around effortlessly in full darkness.

If the car is slow to a point, no stop doesn't help much.

My T1 ran 3 laps on RH without pit stop, in the end it still got 9 on tire and 50% fuel left. But opponents just pull away 1~2 min. per lap, and they only stop twice at maximum in this 3-lap race.
