So GT6 has over 20 MX-5/Miata/Roadster models for purchase in the Mazda dealer. You'd think they'd put that to use in their one make race, right? Right? Wrong.

How is it pathetic? They got grief for overutilising the MX-5 previously, so maybe they thought: 'Hey, time for a change...'

Urugh they still utizing all the mx-5s its just that they are only using one model when in fact there are still more than 20 in the game..

 that's hilarious, I noticed that last night too. I was looking for a Miata/MX-5/Roadster for the race and that's when I realized just how many freaking models there was of it, it seems to be more than the Skylines now?? Anyway, I finally settled on one and it was the exact same one all the rest of the racers have. Does the game change the grid according to what you are using?

Well, in fairness there is quite a difference in speed between the models - it'd be like having Subaru for a one make...there's a helluva lot of difference there too :sly:

I think same make is synonymous with 'same car' for PD.

The description said to make the race as close as possible.
Some of the other miata's have different PP so I think it makes sense.

They just took the MX-5 with the highest amount of PP and filled the entire grid with it. Even then, I was able to overtake them all before lap 3 while they were much faster on the straights.

I would think the mistake is allowing you to select something different... In Cup races the cars are equipped nearly identical per rules.

In GT5 I would never use standard cars. Now in GT6, since "there are no standard cars" and every car is in the dealership menu I now see how many duplicates there are and understand a lot of the complaints about them.
