I don't mean to make so many threads but this is to help determine which three courses people would like to record their most impressive single lap drift session onto a video tape labeled with the enterant's name, mailed, along with a one dollar entry fee, for selective comparitive judging and also for a chance at a prize that will be determined by how many people enter and their opinions.

Please select the three courses that you feel you have the greatest drifting ability on.

I will let votes accumulate for a while and select the top three as the courses to be used in the tournament.

Once a roster is compiled at a set date, all entries will be allowed to challenge any other entries. Late entries will not be included in the roster.

Battles will take place in the order they are agreed upon. A coin will be flipped and the winner of the toss will be allowed to select which of the three courses will be compared between the two combatants. Both drift runs on the selected course will be judged and compared fairly based on several aspects yet to be determined.

Losers will be eliminated and winners may continue to challenge or agree to be challenged. When only one entry remains, he/she will be declared the winner.

Feel free to post any disagreements or ideas on this topic as a whole.

I think "battles" work pretty well the way they're done now. It'd be too much of a hassle for everybody to send video tapes in. Plus...who would judge? Would you have to send a video tape to each one of the judges? It doesn't sound like you really thought this out.

Heyyy... none of that.

I was trying to make a system that is open to any people who have VCRs instead of only people with digital video cameras.

 What if I dont have a VCR? Hm hm? But battles work just fine how they're done. And I havent seen any of bengee's videos (Does he have one?) but we all know hes a good drifter, just from his knowledge, not everyone needs a video to prove themselves..

If you can't afford a VCR then you probably can't afford a $600 video camera so I guess you couldn't enter.

Judges would be myself and two other street racing friends that work at a local body shop who have a significant knowledge of real world drifting.

An because I have only been posting on these forums for 3 days doesn't mean I haven't been playing this game since the day it was released in Canada.

1) That was a sarcastic joke. I have a few VCR's and 4 DVD players. I can afford them.
2) Everyone here has a very extensive knowledge of drifting in the real world.

Who the **** cares? Why would anyone send money to a noob just to be in a tournament?!?!?!?! We have a couple already going on that are free. I doubt anyone cares about some cheap prize.

Just for the fun of doing it for the people.
100% of the fee will go towards the cost of the prize, even if it is just a pool of everyones fee.

Although everyone here with knowledge of drifting has some understanding of real world drifting, I bet only few have actually experienced it in real life.

I am no expert judge because I haven't tried it myself with my car as of yet but I personally know two people who agreed to help with the judging and are seasoned drifters. I have even sat in their naviseat and had some crazy drift sessions, never really thinking much of it until I started with GT3.

So, it's not like some geek analyzing your skill, these are guys that do it constantly as well as street racing with me and know talent when they see it.

It would be worth it.

It would be worth more than 15 dollars to me to actually declare someone a winner and be the one to give them what they earned.

It's not gambling. It is a tournament with an entry fee.

Certainly not a scam.

how do we know that your telling the truth?:irked:

How do you know I was planning to go through with this in the first place. It was merely an idea to organize something new, but it is obviously unappreciated so I'm going to stop posting on this thread or even continue reading it for that matter.

Later.

Hey Street Fighter.

Feel free to post any suggestions you may have for running a battle, but you will not be allowed to use this site to charge members here for what should be an otherwise free service.

In light of that, this thread will now be closed.
