So I wanted to undo a car purchase and thought I'd just remove the last game save and use the previous one, but I accidentally threw away the wrong file and now everything is gone and GT6 started all over again... Is there still a way to fix this are do I just have to accept everything is gone and start from scratch?

Saving a backup externally is highly recommended but if you haven't done that, can you load the backup save from the PS3 menu & use that?

Haven't saved anything externally unfortunately, and threw away the file via the ps3 menu.. So that was probably the backup file... I guess I screwed myself big time...

There are normally 2 saves in the PS3 menu, you can look at certain information before you load or delete either of them. As far as I remember, it will show the current credits & current car at least.

They'll be called something like "Gran Turismo 6" & "Gran Turismo 6 (Backup)"

Check as soon & possible, ideally before you next load the game, to minimise the chance of the backup being overwritten if it's still an old one that's of any use to you.

They're both gone.. I was only paying attention to the dates, so I threw all files with today's date away thinking there would be a file with yesterdays date, which there isn't :'(

That's bad news. :(
It would be advisable to use a USB Flash Drive to create backups next time.

Definitely... Ohwell.. I don't really mind starting the game again, but it sucks all my VGT's are gone and I now have to spend millions to get them all again

Definitely :) And I can use bspec bob if I don't feel like racing, which I couldn't when the game just came out.. Luckily I do have all the anniversary edition cars, the 1.000.000 start bonus and GT Academy cars :)
