In case some don't follow the GT5 Site!

I Just spent some time testing the New V2 interfaceone PCB.

I tested it with the SST Lightning, the Frex Controller interface and the TH8RS in H Mode. All worked great.

Then I swapped the plate on the TH8RS and put it into sequential mode..

The addition of the switch on the pcb allows you to tell the interfaceone PCB that the TH8RS is now in sequential mode(don't forget to switch it back when you go back to H mode)!

It works great..

This is a gorgeous feeling shifter, it feels so much more like a proper shifter.

Check out The ISR Review

What's this got to do with Forza. Well with this interface you can now use this shifter on a fanatec wheel and hence forza, and as the same fanatec wheel can be used on the ps3 as well. You can make the shifter work with the fanatec wheel on the PS3 plus with GT5 you can use sequential mode as well as H shift mode! (you can't do that with the official GT5 T500RS wheel!!)

So imho Forza4 + Fanatec + TH8RS = Delicious

but you need the interface :D

Cheers

GSL

Can you please confirm if the shifter in sequential will work on other games? like Race Pro for example?

If the game supports the fanatec H shifter or Sequential, it will work as the interface board presents the TH8RS to the wheel as a fanatec shifter.

you connect the shifter to the interface and the interface to the wheel.

The only games I have on my XBOX's are Forza

Just noticed this.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2qvaIK7prCg

It's the review by ISR on Race Pro and in it they say the game isn't compatible with an H shifter on the fanatec. If this is still the case then the answers NO.
It's down to the game.. Historic games will be less likely to have this functionality as the hardware wasn't available up until fanatec came around to support it.

Wow! Now i'm confused? wait for the clubsport shifter or buy the Thrustmaster shifter. Thanks for the info... awesome!

CSS =$100

TM =$149 + the high cost of the interfaceone.

I'm gonna hold off until Thomas gets back from China, he said he'll have a CSS in tow to show us!

Good point, but just how much is the interfaceone... the CSS is the better deal but man I want this thing yesterday. I've found info for the CSS very hard to come by.

Price of interface as follows;

£54.16 Excluding VAT
£10.84 VAT @ 20%
£65.00 Total This includes UK USB Power Plug and Interface

£50.00 Excluding VAT
£10.00 VAT @ 20%
£60.00 Total This excludes any USB Power Supply and is Interface only

Above prices exclude postage and packing. Prices shown in Pounds Sterling (GBP)

I Agree CSS sounded good, but it's not here yet.
and was first mentioned when the original Club Sports were announced.

In fact back on the 26th of April 2010 Thomas asked for feedback on a club sport handbrake! this was after asking for feedback from us on the 24th of march 2010 on the Shifter some 20 months ago!

The intital specs were :

Here are the initial specs of the CSS: Material: Full aluminium with some steel parts
Mounting options: There will be screw inserts on the bottom. We will make an adapter for the Clubsport table clamp and the RennSport Wheel Stand.
Amount of gears: 7+1
Sequential option: We will implement it but only if this is not a compromise. We have a solution which could work very well in both modes
Haptic feeling: Very similar like in a real car. Perhaps we can even make the resistance adjustable.
Acoustic: A solid "clonck" instead of a "clack" but very silent
Colour/design: Silver as CSP. The shifter will be gated like in a Ferrari or Lamborghini
Style of gear knob: It will be exchangeable so upgrades are possible (leather, carbon, etc). The standard version will be an polished aluminum ball.
Size: We will try to keep the size of the PW shifter but it will probably become a bit higher
Compatibility: It will be backwards compatible to the Porsche wheel shifter and therefore compatible to all platforms. An USB adapter will be available optional to make it work with other wheels on PC.

For me the TH8RS already meets these specs..build quality is outstanding. The only issue is it doesn't interface natively with the wheels. The interface one PCB allows that.

Thomas already explained the CSS delay was because MS approached him with the FM4 wheel project. So we end up having the CSS delayed, but add the CSR, CSRE, CSW product lines. I even participated in the community feedback for the proposed CSS on 911wheel.de

I'll suffer along with my Porsche shifter until I can see a shootout of the CSS, SST and TH8RS . Or the CSS goes on pre-order, Fanatec never seem to aim to be second best.

good call.

I also wanted to chime in that this works great with the Frex HShift+. The CSS just became completely irrelevant for me. :D The adapter is worth it for the sheer flexibility alone.
If you have an as of yet unsupported shifter (like a TSW for example), I encourage you to reach out to Interfaceone, as he can most likely get it to work with a little cooperation on your part (he's actually great to work with).

I'm holding out for the CSS too. I recently got the CSR Value pack. The CSR shifter is calling me like a Siren, but I am doing my best to wait for the CSS...

Let me tell you. Using the paddles and the clutch pedal is confusing. Especially being so use to button clutching with the WRW.

Come on Thomas! Heck, at this point, i'd even Beta test it, just to get some proper shifting...

And then there is the CSR shifter...

NO! I MUSTN'T GIVE IN!

I bought the TH8RS but can't track down an interface :( I've tried contacting interfaceone but from the last post I saw, He has stopped making them and won't make anymore until after the CSS is declared a turd.

Just wish i could find one, my TH8 is just begging to be used in forza :(

FIFY...

I will believe it when I can place an order and recieve it 2 weeks later.

Basherboards has an adapter. Search them up. From the looks of things, it's a pretty straight forward adapter.

I am at a crossroads where I want to go with a Basher Board and a TH8, but then I am also curous to see what Fanatec has in the CSS...

I think I am just going to keep it all Fanatec and buy a Porsche Shifter set later today to go with my CSR while I patiently wait for the CSS. In the mean time I will get the Club Sport V2 pedals and a Club Sport table clamp for the shifter and CSR (Not in that order of course). I imagine by the time I have all of that funded, the CSS would at least be announced.
